Trinity has three solid Division 1 prospects: McDuffie is senior DE. Herron is a junior DE (Michigan). Moore is a senior receiver (Texas). There could be a lineman who gets an offer. Hull and Cardosi, senior LBs, my get a smaller school offers. Had Coach Brohm at Purdue may come calling down the road.Calpreps has Trinity a one point favorite in a matchup versus Covington Catholic, who is ranked number two in KY on their site.Which team has the most FBS D1 players? I don't know Trinity's roster and that's why I am asking.

We shall see. I believe dismissing the struggle versus Conner is comfortable for the Pioneers. Reality may be quite the opposite.Right, this was a rain game and doesn't really figure into the grand scheme of things. -
Did the teams shorten the quarters from 12 to 10 or 8 minutes after halftime? I am betting they did not.
-
Did you know Trinity has a losing record against both of these historic programs? Each defeated the Shamrocks in Trinity's inaugural varsity football season in 1955.

Manual offense not good enough against Male D to get win.
I happen to agree with this statement.
-
Which is exactly what he said in the first sentence.
And that turned out well for the Raiders. :dancingpa

27-0 per voters to this point. Enough said.

Fern Creek has some talented players. The QB will be a good one. He needs a little more help from his O-Line. The receivers have potential. The Creekers did experience some success running the ball.
You can't have the mishandled exchange between QB and RB get batted into the air and caught by a DE and walked in for a TD.
The opening kickoff was an onside kick by FC. Why the Creekers chose to kick straight to Malubay twice, especially after the first return for a TD is a mystery to me.

This sets up a great showdown next week. Hope it is standing room only!

Here's the thread from September.Ryle and Simon Kenton should be a battle.
-
42 to 21 Ryle, Conner is out of gas.
It appears Ryle stopped turning the ball over?
-
I do appreciate their efforts. Many thanks. You have to take what you get, that was an obvious oversight. -
The posting folks must share more details. Please. My access is limited to my old MyTouch phone and a 4G network connection.Who? -
Are they playing with 7 officials?
Why is the KHSAA going to use 7 for semi-finals and finals????? (Rounds four and five was how it was announced at Trinity) This can be a topic for next week.

Hail marry almost picked off.
That should read "Hail Mary"........it is a Catholic thing......... :-)

The Purples have righted the ship.
-
Raiders will settle down. 31 BGPers predicted Ryle would take this one with one vote for Conner.
-
31 of 32 BGPers can't be wrong.

The weather got to me. Fern Creek did score against the Tigers subs. It was not pretty as St. Xavier started third string QB. 31-12 is correct. I will have the thread corrected. I hope Fern Creek does not cancel their JV and Freshman games with Trinity.

The Central Hardin Bruins (5-3) beat Meade County 35-28 in overtime this past Friday.
North Hardin was off. By virtue of the two score win by North Hardin (3-5) over Meade County (4-5) on October 6, I feel the Trojans are the favorites in this District 2 battle. Both teams are 1-0 in the district and this game is for the number one seed in the playoffs.

The Douglass Broncos (6-2) handled 2A Hancock County (4-4) 48-0 this past Friday. Henry Clay (4-4) handled the winless Defenders of Bryan Station (0-8) 36-6. The Broncos are trying to secure the #2 seed in District 7. Better talent usually wins. The new school in Lexington should take this one with a running clock by the score of 42-0.

Ryle (5-2) has a game with Conner (4-3) later Saturday. The Raiders are heavy favorites in today's contest.
Ryle's titanic struggle at Simon Kenton (9-0) looms this Friday. This is the game of the year in 6A for northern Kentucky. Ryle's losses have came to Cathedral (IN) and 5A #1 Covington Catholic. Simon Kenton's best win came versus 1A #1 Beechwood.
I like Ryle's chances to control the ball versus the Pioneers by running the ball behind their highly touted offensive line.

The Bulldogs (7-2) are smarting after their shutout loss to #4 St. Xavier (7-1) 27-0. The Crimsons (3-5) remain the best team with a losing record in 6A. Manual put up a strong fight versus Pleasure Ridge Park (6-2) before dropping a 14-7 decision to the Panthers.
Last season, Male won 27-14 and I look for a similar spread this year. The offenses are not as talented and both teams rely more an their defenses than in 2016, so I think 14-0 is closer to the final score this time.
-
The Tigers (7-1) appear to have found their stride versus Male (7-2) 27-0. The Bears beat Eastern 20-10. St. Xavier is playing with a chip on their shoulder and will be pumped to finish undefeated in their district. Last year's contest went to St. Xavier 35-6. I look for much the same this year.
3A #4 Elizabethtown vs. Bardstown
in KY Football (High School)

I'd enjoy any stories about that game.
Back to the point of this thread, the Panthers should handle the Tigers easily. I am not sure why Bardstown has fallen on tough times football wise. They did defeat both Nelson County and Thomas Nelson this season. I guess the football talent is spread too thin locally.
