Someone PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE explain what is the meaning of the Lloyd "Juggernaut"...I've been wondering that for years!!!

Lloyd did not have a mascot name, then a reporter from the Cincinnati Post came to cover their football game in the 1928-29. He wrote Lloyd dominated and played like a Juggernaut. They took the name from the article .The mascot looks like a Trojan, they say there is no other high school or college with the name. I thought that was pretty cool.

This is true, Lloyd High School is the only High School in the United States with Juggernaut as a Mascot!!!

A JUGGERNAUT: A Large Overpowering Destructive Force, A Crushing Immovable Object of War --- Like A Spartan Warrior Who is Bold, Fearless, Rigid, Serious, Strict, Unafraid and Unmerciful. A Person Of Great Courage and Strength.

Here is how sports are suppose to help young kids. My son is on the team and he was benched, and barely got in at all. I sat in the stands and was disappointed that I didn't get to see my son play ( as all parents do ). I rooted for the team anyway. When he got home he looked a little upset, so I asked him, " How did you like not getting on the field ?" His response was " It sucked. " I asked him, "whose fault was it ?" His response, "mine." I asked, " So what are you going to do about it ? " His response " Try harder ." I have never been prouder of him then than at that moment. He learned the lesson of life!

John walked on at U.K. & got a scholarship. Played professional for the Chicago Bears. John has a big Heart!!!

There were a lot of excellent running backs that played for Boone County and they all had different styles of running the football. If I had to name my top three, which would be really hard, they would have to be Shaun Alexander, George Rudd, & Brandon Black!!! I would love to have them in the same backfield for three years!!! WOW, WOW, & WOW.

Billy Brumback would have to be a top quarterback on that list! He was the starting quarterback of the 1965 State Championship team! Played for the University of Louisville.

Coach Turner will do an excellent coaching job at Lloyd!!! The last time Lloyd had a Turner Head Coach, they won a state championship!!! Good luck, Coach Turner, we are looking forward to having you as coach!!!

I do not think Coach Turner read Coach Hauck's book! He just read chapter one & then stopped!!! Congrats goes to Coach Turner on getting the head coaching position at Lloyd! The JUGGS NATION & PLAYERS will do just fine under his leadership!!! fulme63

It will not be long now! The committee & athletic director who is on the committee did an excellent job of choosing an outstanding individual for the next Lloyd H. S. Head Coach!

Lloyd Memorial has a lot of Tradition, two (2) State Championships!!! One in 1965 and another in 1976! Granted they have not won any in this century but they have some outstanding young players!!! I am sure they have winning blood llines, becausse some of their fathers played on that 1976 team that won the State Title under Coach Daughtery! Jack Turner, coached the team in the championship game in 1965, & Coach, Roy Lucas, was one of his assistant.

The expectations have to be high with all that talent coming back!!! It appears that the Juggernaut nation has a strong group of young men waiting for their opportunity to show what they can accomplish!!! It would be nice to win a third state championship!!!! WOW!!!

That is an excellent question? I think it has to do with the principal of the high school, the superintendent of the time of the time of hiring, & who the hiree is!!!

He is not a full time employ of the Boone County School system. It use to be a requirement, but like I said, it is who you know!!!
