Timmy Bradshaw and Taylor Harper of East Jessamine have both committed To play at Asbury University
-
Tyler Smith (Bryan Station)-Asbury

Well it is official! Kristian signed a full tuition athletic scolarship with Asbury today. There were lots of friends and family in attendance to wish him good luck.
-
I'm gonna say one more thing and I'm done. HISTORY of letting his aau team down when they really needed him. He's a good kid and not trying to take that from him but give me a break. Do the right thing.
Am I?Did he commit? Or just get an invite? Did something personal come up? A family thing? Maybe he just felt like being a teenager and forgetting about sports for a weekend.
A lot of judgement with very little facts.
-
Sorry but your way off base. This isn't the first time he has committed to an all star game and then just not shown up on game day. And yes my son did get invited to that one also and did show up. When my kid commits to something he makes every effort to keep that commitment. Like I said, it should have been an honor not something to just blow off.Im sure Andrew was the only no show... I understand you're upset your son wasn't invited but this is a huge reach. -
Choosing to not play in an optional is a bad look? Ok...
Yes, I believe it is. If he didnt want to play in it then let someone know in advance so the next kid in line could play. It shows lack of leadership and commitment to college coaches that may hear about it also. It should have been an honor to represent his region in this. My opinion.
-
I heard Andrew Sampson, poy for the 8th was a no show. Not the first time this kid has done this. Not a good way to represent the 8th at all.
-
Gallatin County's Kristian Morgan will be signing with Asbury this Tuesday March 12 at the School library at 3:30 pm. What other 8th region boys will playing basketball at the next level and where? Please list the ones you know.
-
Even if Holmes does advance, which I'm doubtful of, I don't think Bolden would stand a chance against a player as good as Hawkins. Bolden = overrated in my opinion.
Just complete dominance from Madison Central.Haven't really kept up with HS ball this year, are they considered one of the favorites? Looked awful good today.
Hawkins vs. Bolden (assuming Holmes advances) will be a heck of a battle in the quarterfinals.

Anyone know who the runner-up was in the 8th??
Player ofthe year and runner-up get invited to play. In the 6th region it is Derek Willis and Josh Payne. Also note that coaches cannot vote for their own player and you must be a member of the KABC to vote and for your player to be eligible. You would be surprised at how many coaches do not belong to the KABC.

Congrats to all the kids WHO made the list.
WHO is Ethan Rowe of Pikeville? The other Canadian kid?
Would have been nice to see McGovney on that list IMO. Michael Beuter of NCC should have gotten some rec as well.
Agree on these two also. And is it really fair to give a spot to a Canadian transfer that just became eligible one week before the class A. Is there any allegiance to the kids that have played
Ball here all 4 years of high school? Just bugs the heck out of me! I guess I just dont fall for the hype.
-
I was hoping that Justin Saunders and Nate McGovney would of had a shot at a tryout.
Totally agree
-
Didn't take a psychic. Took a stopwatch Matter of time.
Maybe you should have stopped and watched a little closer because this list is always missing key players every year. I guess at least they are consistent
-
I knew that one was coming.
I'm so glad of your psychic abilities but truth is truth.

This game is nothing but the result of politics. Northern Ky area is nowhere nearly as represented as it should be. Where are kids like Nick Seibert of NCC, Kristian Morgan of Gallatin, Andrew Sampson of SK to name a few? Every year kids that definitely should be on that tryout list are not given a shot because they don't have the right "connections". Like I said, all politics!!

Eminence for sure

I wouldn't count them out yet I meant to say.
-
I wouldn't count Gallatin County just yet.
-
Very close the whole game. Levitch with 21 for North. Morgan with 20 for Gallatin.
-
Looks great! I can't wait!!
-
Oh the HATRED! Don't be haters! Both are very good players and both will play in College! I would take either one of them on my team in a HEARTBEAT! Enjoy watching them play guys and focus on the positive. Maybe we will see them against each other in the Regional Tournament!
Good post. I totally agree with you.
-
Who won this game??? Guess he needed 35. Kristian is a good player on an average team at best. Dez Marshall is the best player in the region and will be playing college ball. Don't think Sampson or Morgan could play at the NAIA level. Nothing personal against either young man just there size and skill set doesn't play into the college game.
Funny you say that since Morgan has verbally committed to Asbury University and is their top recruit. Fact is you also that you have to have a good ACT score to be able to play ball in college
-
How did the head to head match up go earlier? They guard each other? Who did what?
This years matchup Morgan scored 29 to Sampson's 19 and they did guard each other. They have been longtime AAU teammates and friends and either would be happy with the other winning the honor.

You really must not have compared at any high school stats. Morgan averaged 20.7 ppg and 6.1 rpg. Also, Morgan played on the same aau team with MICHAEL BUETER, NICK JACKSON, and ANDREW SAMPSON which you put on the first team and JAKE SCHULTE which is on your second team. He Led in ppg on this aau team and Im sure any of these guys would tell you that he could and did outplay any of them on any given day. As a guard he was also like 2nd in rebounding. So.....you should have given credit where credit was due even though his high team lacked the talent to get farther than they did this season. Anyway he is looking forward to graduating and playing this fall for Asbury Mens Basketball team.
