I've always felt all the big schools cheat. All of them.
I agree with RP here...I'll bet they all cheat in some way, shape, or form. Any time $ is involved there is somebody trying to get theirs.
IMO Calhoun tops any list...

Bardo ?
Bardo plays for Dayton and Clyde is correct

Sorry, I thought you were serious. I'm a bit touchy after reading posts from Heartbreaker...my bad. Hope everyone from T is injury free after Friday so they can win the GCL again.
-
We suck. We'll do our best to be worthy of the opportunity to play the Almighty Bluebirds.
Where did this come from? If you read the entire thread nobody on here has said anything abt T sucking...give me a break, I would think a mod would know better after 42,000 posts. Please read b4 posting.

Do we know what scrimmage format will be used? 10 plays each? Regulation ?
Same as last year...regulation for the majority of the time.
-
To add to your post....I find it incredibly ironic that people will say Trinity is playing at a different level than Highlands and some Highlands fans take offense but it is fine when they claim to be playing at a different level than the rest of the state. I love irony.
It would be ironic if the same fans taking offense were the ones making such a claim about other teams. With me that is not the case, never have I posted that Highlands was on a diff level...
Hey Heartbreaker how did things go last time the Birds visited Whitley Co.?
-
I in no way am saying Highlands is not a good football team, just that there is a huge difference in the two programs. To say that Highlands is on the same level as Trinity is a slap in the face to the Rocks program. Just a different level of football. Nothing bad, just facts.
I don't think anyone but you mentioned anything about a "level", but I doubt any T fans think beating Highlands in a scrimmage or being on the field competing with them is a slap in the face. I don't know how many teams in KY would agree to play or scrimmage T, but the Birds do so to get better.
What "facts" are you referring too b/c last I checked Highlands has a lot of wins & state titles to go with spanning decades of success. What facts? Way off base.

I will be there. I assume both teams will use numerous subs, but there is supposed to be time for JV & freshmen at the end. If I remember correctly there is a 3 hr time limit to a scrimmage. I know there is an 8 man officiating crew working the game, so the refs will be subbing as well. There is a normal 5 man crew and 3 newer guys getting reps too.

Just because Romney may not win does not mean Obama is doing a good job. Also, like the majority of politicians, there is some shady deal they are hiding. 2 crooks do not an honest man make...
-
The only team in KY that will beat them is Trinity.
Let's play a game first...you sound like UK#1 fan. It is definitely game week at Highlands & there is a lot of work to be done before Friday!
-
Agreed JOAT. It is game week at HHS.
-
Shouldn't Trinity at least be in the top 5? I know strength of schedule can't be holdin them back.
-
Other highlights included a Durant 3-point shot that he took from somewhere in the second row and Anthony getting hit in his little carmelos by Gutierrez.
Had to look at that again on replay to see it, but sure enough...Argentina should be embarrassed, then Westbrook made sure of it!

I think so, especially given that I don't think he's been linked to PED's. Rookie of the year winner, 8 Gold Gloves, a silver slugger and 7 time allstar. He won the world series and batted .421 during that series. He's on the edge but I think he gets in but it may take a while. Baseball reference for what it's worth has him ranked the 82nd alltime batter.
I agree with 2 hump camel. If the Reds make the playoffs this year and need a game winning hit, other than Votto I'd want him at the plate. I know there are guys with better numbers, but he seems to get big hits...Maybe I'm biased cuz I was there Saturday night.

I'm late to the party but I see Highlands opens with Boyle on 8.17. I thought it was 8.24. That works better for me. Looking forward to it and hoping for low heat.
8/17 vs. Boyle Co.
8/24 vs. Scott Co. - replacing Dixie here as they decided to drop Highlands after last yrs Game on T.V.

FTJFL starts in 3rd grade

You are correct on the '91 season. I always mix up the football season yr with the graduation yr of the senior class. I am pretty sure he was kicking varsity as a frosh at some point.
-
I am with Mex...I do not root against high schools, but some coaches annoy me...I cannot stand IU (mostly b/c of Bully Knight), Big Ben, Ohio St., & LaRussa...
-
Have the Birds ever brought up a frosh just to kick on Friday nights?? I know if Jared D was a Soph he would probably win that job..
Yes, in 1992 Coach Duffy brought up freshman Matt Huddleston to kick varsity. He did a nice job nailing overtime field goals to beat Newport & Newport Catholic that season. Both games were played at Newport Stadium.

Why is there always talk abt HHS playing SK? The 2 teams have not played each other in a long time. I'm pretty sure there has been no contract offer from either school, but I think HHS makes it clear that they are willing to play any team. If I remember correctly Coach Marksberry & one of the HHS coaches were room mates at Hanover or at least teammates, so I would think a possible game has been discussed at some point. So whomever "bulldog" is, he is wrong. I am sure SK will have a good team this season & both programs will survive not playing one another again this year...

Then it is even worse news for PT, right?
Doubt too many true frosh will start at QB in the SEC this season, including PT. So, If UK fan or Dakotah Tyler wanna hang their hat on that so be it. I hope PT gets a redshift b/c most likely they are looking at a 3,4, or 5 win season no matter who the QB is...

Burnett made Bruce look like clown!

High School - None
College - Ohio St.
MLB - Cardinals, Yanks
NFL - Pittsburgh Steelers - They are the worst!

Patrick Towles threw his first pass in practice in college football. And it was picked off by safety Dakotah Tyler.
That will most likely be the only pick of the year for the UK defense.

Agree with pp92...I have heard good things about Joker from a few current players. The 3 I spoke with all like him & gave him credit for what they called an excellent recruiting class in their eyes. They went on to add that he initiated several team building activities that have brought them closer as a unit. Not sure if this will save his job, but for some reason I find myself rooting for him!
