  1. See also the Monroe versus Tilghman thread. Roe supporters said this about their kids. Shoe is on the other foot. Just sayin.....

SMASH is right about one thing. I should have stated that Monroe beat PT with heart, a great coach and teamwork instead of the way I previously stated. I sometimes become too overzealous in my post as a fan and forget that there are young boys becoming young men on the field. It will not be the last time or the first time that have I put my foot in my mouth .

    1st bolded......you are 1000% correct.

2nd bolded......IMO, your grasping at straws here, if folks get so offended by a simple word........then WOW!!! Folks need to get a little thicker skin.

3rd bolded......1000% correct, but tongue in cheek. I knew I was going to get a reaction from some with that post, but RACIST, not this guy.

Don't worry about it. Everyone has at least once in their lifetime opened their mouth and inserted their foot in it.

  3. Seeing how Wayne pretty much handled you early in the preseason, sacked and hit Wilson, over and over again, and how Central just stuffed one of the great power run teams in Bell I'd say picking Monroe to win by more than a point in a close game is stretching it.

Monroe is not the same team that you witnessed in the scrimmage with Wayne. The offensive line has become a solid unit. If the defense plays their usual tenacious defensive game, then Coach Petett's deep playbook and Monroe's offensive line performance will decide the outcome of the game. Again it is up to the offensive line's performance. In the region Monroe has flown under everyone's radar this year for sure. PT overlooked them . Central could also be overlooking Monroe . I sure hope so. It makes possible victory sweeter.

  4. Crow indeed!, Congrats to Monroe! pT had this game until the interception just before the half. the freshman QB lost his confidence after and could not regain it. As for all the posts about the character of this team and coaching staff it's uncalled for. Life and language is a little different in the city. A lot of these kids come from single parent homes and have no support system. I have personally talked to and seen Randy try different things to motivate and it seems the kids only respond sometimes to a little different language choice. Not everyone gets the privilege to grow up safe from crime on a daily basis with tons of support at home and a hot meal waiting for you and even a ride after practice. Not trying to spout an excuse as much as some reasoning why the language is a little rough. Anyway I hope Monroe takes it to the carpet and gets a championship. Don't judge yet ye be judged. Next year maybe PT can fix some things and get a little farther.

I have resided in 4 towns 5 to 6 times larger than Paducah. I just can't buy the city thing as an excuse for the coaches' antics. Concerning the kids I can seen your point. Their enviroment at home does play a huge roll in their character. Thats when you need a good coach who can coach the sport but also provide some direction on character and life. Monroe is like all other counties with it's share of crime, murder and drugs. Many kids on Monroe's team come from single parent homes. Some even are raised by their grandparents, uncles, aunts, and even friends. I just cannot excuse the obscene language I heard on the field that night.

With that said. I thought your QB was very impressive. 31 was a beast with good speed. D line was the quickest that I had seen in several years. They just swarmed to the ball where ever it was at on the field.

  5. This was a game from start to finish. PT had speed everywhere but no team players. If they had more respectable coaches maybe this program would be top notch! I may be a little to small town but I can never respect a school that allows a coach to be like PT's head coach and play and act like some of their players. this ball club has very many really good athletes but not very good guidance!!! SAD!!!

Now on to my FALCONS...AWESOME!!! You faced diversity and smacked it in the mouth!!! My hats off to the Coaches for the second half changes and to our DEFENSE..just WOW!

IMO the play of the game was Zach London's punt to the 2 which resulted in two plays later a PT fumble and the go ahead TD!!! The 2 pt conversion put two huge hurdles that was never overcome. Then the Senior Chad Wilson sealed it with an interception in the endzone....God Bless Friday nights under the lights!!!

PT's coach had a filty mouth that was shameful. At the end of the game the mf-bombs coming from the mouths of pt players, coaches, and parents was a disgrace . Does the coach think that he is auditioning for the part of Bear Bryant in the Junction Boys made for TV movie???/ Tsyoung is right about guidance.......none what so ever from their coaching staff . What a waste . PT could be playing for the championship with their speed and talent.

  6. What was the Adair versus Monroe score in 2012?

PT hung 57-0 on them in a half.

How's that for this year. I think it was 23-6. Hmmmmmm

Adair actually has some good athletes and size but seem to lose their momentum when the other teams score first. If the other team was up by 14 the Adair Kids seem to lose their mental toughness and give in some. The community support for Adair football is just not there either. IMO They have the kids and talent ...I just don't know what they are missing.

Looking forward to the game between Monroe and PT. If Monroe can defend against the pass this game will go back and forth till the end.

  7. This is true....Monroe seems to be primed and ready for a good playoff shot this year! As long as everyone stays healthy and focused we will be just fine!!!! There is no stand out team in 3a this year...everyone could drop the ball in any given game this playoff season! JUST PRAY ITS NOT THE FALCONS!!!!

Monroe needs to be ready for an all out battle with an emotional Heath team. This could be Heath's last high school football game for the history books. The Heath kids will be giving it everthing they have to move on. Heath, Lone Oak, and Reidland will consolidate next year and become the new Mccracken County High school.

  8. Good football program begins with 4 huge key influences. In order of importance I believe they are an excellant coaching staff , above average community support, good facilities and the size of enrollment. Enrollment size is a key like it or not. Some schools have the enrollment just not the other 3 key influences.

  9. Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations

    2. The receiving State is under a special duty to take all appropriate steps to protect the premises of the mission against any intrusion or damage and to prevent any disturbance of the peace of the mission or impairment of its dignity.

Where were the Libya authorities ?????????????????????????

  10. I don't think that's fair either. Free trade policies definitely help alleviate the problems that come with poverty. Food is cheaper, clothes are cheaper, cars are cheaper; a lot of that has to do with the free trade policies that have come up in the last few decades.

With cheaper prices comes lower quality. It is not easy to find good quality shoes, clothing, furniture, tools, electronics, and toys made in America. The sad truth is that free trade equals less manufacturing jobs for the poor and middle class. It is amazing how many small communities in America are begging for industry. How many large industrial companies are willing to locate to a town the size of lebanon , Monticello, Marion, or Corbin, Ky??? My mother's textile factory lay off 150 employees because it lost a bid to make the TSA uniforms for the govt. The bid went to a company that took the contract to a factory in Mexico. The sandwich shop and quick shop across the street will have less sales as a result. I wonder how those employees feel about free trade and cheap labor in other countries.
