  1. Interesting & curious as to why you think you know who I am?? I assume you must be the parent of a player that had one bad game & don't want your kid's skill level questioned!! Conner has talent & no one questions that!!

Thanks for the apology to BigZig. I just felt like you were criticizing the coaching staff and the players and thought that was wrong without being constructive. To answer your assumption, I am a parent but thought my "kid" played one of the best games she's ever had while putting up 28 points and battling underneath. But I am glad you didn't question her abilities or I certainly would have had a stronger tone. You know who I am now so feel free to come up and introduce yourself at the next game.

  2. Agreed!! Conner's sharp shooters are set shooters & can't/won't shoot with a hand in their face. NDA took full advantage of that which is why Conner only made 2 3s all night. Conner's other weakness is lack of ball handlers!! If Gambrell is out' date=' Conner falls apart. Hicks & Dages are good players but neither make smart decisions at point & that results in turning the ball over!! Maines gets going faster than the ball & Hendrick's is more than capable but doesn't look comfortable in that position. Outside of Hicks, who is another ball handler for JV? Stamm needs more players off his bench to step up to relieve his starters or this season may end like last year!!! I'm still saying NDA/NCC will most likely the 9th Region representative!! Both schools have & play deep benches!![/quote']

This is classless and ridiculous. Who else do you want to call out tonight? You couldn't stop with coach Stamm so you had to attack the players? Unbelievable and just wrong. Try to be constructive please.

  3. That could be an excuse but this late in the season it shouldn't be a problem. Even if that was the case' date=' there's no excuse for players taking bad shots over & over or making basic skill turnovers at the end of the game with a win on the line. After watching Conner during some summer league games, I was impressed & convinced Stamm had a lot of young talent on his bench he could use to keep a fast pace without sacrificing the level of competition. I only saw Conner in a couple preseason games so it is possible those bench players just happened to have a good game for the ones I saw since Stamm seems to play only 2 deep off the bench. Everyone knows that a bench can make or break a team & if Stamm isn't confident playing more players off his bench then Conner's future isn't as bright as people thought!! NDA stepped up this game & for them to pull out the win in foul trouble without Ogle & Smith scoring or playing a lot of minutes tells you they are legit!![/quote']

This is a classic post from a parent who thinks their kid should play more. And don't tell me you're not because I know who you are. "Fizzled out"??? Really?! Doors anyone else that was at that game think Conner ran out of gas? Those kids (Conner) played 120% until the final buzzer. They had a few bad possessions in the 4th that cost them the game. It could have went either way but ND won and ND shouldn't be discredited from a disgruntled parent. Just sayin.

  6. It's going to be very difficult to beat NCC when they hit 10 3's in a game no matter what defense you are in. Tough to guard the perimeter and Kiernan.

Owings has a huge heart and I felt like she tried to put her team on her back last night. I was surprised that SK's offense didn't involve their big girls at all.

Obviously Kiernan had an unbelievable performance, but Ware also had a great game. Offenses better be alert of where's she's at all the time or she's going to steal the ball from you.

  8. Whether you want to admit it or not he did force Coach Murray to resign because of parents twisting facts all brought about by the lack of playing time. They didn't run to the administration screaming lack of playing time. I will say of the 3 accusations last year and the one this year the only one that holds any water is the "transporting kids". The other 3 have been twisted because the accusing knew the rules and twisted them to their advantage to smear his name. The administration thought it would be easier to force him to resign than back him' date=' because if he was that much of a threat to the kids why is he still teaching? I'll tell you why, because there's no truth there and he's not a threat. All I keep hearing is how it's about the safety of the kids, well then why are our kids not taking a bus to these sporting events? I understand the funding cuts but don't preach about its all about the safety of the kids and have them drive to every away game and use that rule against a coach who "transports kids" especially when it's an out of town tournament during weekdays when parents are at work. Trust me I would rather have my daughter ride with Coach Murray to a game than drive herself. Coach Mike Murray is as good of a guy as you'll find, his only downfall is when he came to CCHS he didn't know anybody and didn't play the political game. He cared, mentored, and played the best players that earned it and it cost him his job. Sad[/quote']

    Spot on!!!!

  9. Game was tied at 41 at the half. I thought coach Stamm made some nice adjustments at halftime. Conner's bench really stepped up and maintained the lead after some of the starters got into foul trouble.

Kramer from CC had a nice game as well with 20 points.

After watching a few games already this year, I've learned that if you are a guard and you can keep from fouling, you can certainly use the new rules to your advantage on offense. All you have to do is drive to the basket. You're either going to have an uncontested layup, or you're going to get fouled 80% of the time.

  10. I also watched some of the Highlands scrimmage and agree with what has already been said. There are some new faces, but one in particular that impressed me, especially knowing how young she is - Z. Barth. She will be special to watch in the coming years. They also have some other nice shooters.

I also saw some good things from Conner. Gambrell and Hendricks have certainly put in some work over the summer. Maines picked up right where she left off and was hustling all over the place making plays. Dages also showed a lot of athleticism. I was also surprised with some of the younger players like Boelter, Vest, Frye and Hicks. These girls will have some quality minutes. It was also nice to see senior Sydney Himes return after taking a year off. She goes 110% all of the time and will be fun to watch. Conner has some things to work on of course but they showed a lot of potential yesterday.

It should be mentioned that North Oldham only had 7 players and I'm not familiar with any of them. But they had a couple nice players that kept grinding even when it seemed they were out of gas.
