Anything on this. I had heard NCC JV won their side. Was told only real competition was Elder which only played Friday.

 

Anyone get out and see any of the games? JV or Varsity?

On Sunday NCC beat Depaul(Cincinnat?) and Highlands. Neither game was close, NCC looked pretty good at times. Highlands looks to have a few good young players.

+1 on Coach Shields. Great coach and great person

I used to see Red all of the time, he and my cousin were very good friends. Perfect example of a guy who could really play at a DI level, but didn't have that perfect size and measurables.

I remember practicing against Red in gradeschool football; going against him in "hamburger". He would crush you and them help you up off the ground.

Great player and even better person.

Just curious, will CovCath bring the "JV Freshman" down for the Freshman Regional?

Harris pitched for New Cath. Litzer (sp?) pitched for Cov Cath. Both kids pitched good games.

Sam Kaelin finished up for the Breds after Harris and did a great job. The second pitcher for Cov Cath pitched well also.

Am I correct in saying that NCC fields an all new Freshman class each year (no 8th graders to move up)? Do you have a line on where the players from this newest class have been playing?

So the NCC JV group outscored the North College Hill varsity by 8 in the 4th to get the win?

The 5 Starters went out, 5 subs came in for several minutes and did well. The starter were back in at the end off the game.

What is going on with the Legends? Heard they have a great group of ball players on that team. Smith and the Anderson twins (NCC) Englemon (Holmes) Snapp and another boy from Pendleton think last name is Pugh along with Marshall I believe is at Lloyd and Arnold ( Holmes). What is up with the Smith kid. Haven't heard much other than he wasn't playing with NCC at first.

Smith was injured early in the year. He's playing well right now.

NCC Frosh have beaten Dixie, Walton Verona, Holy Cross, Glen Este and Conner.

Lost to: CovCath, Holmes and Ryle

I think the dropped passes early in the game really hurt HC.
