  1. Monroe county is 7-3 and have two huge losses to South Warren and Wayne County.

Trigg is 4-5 and have played some good competition as well.

IMO this will be the closet game the first round will see. If Trigg comes out throwing the ball like there stats say Monroe will be put out in the first round. Monroe does not have a very good pass defense. There stats show this. But the three hour bus ride definitely plays well into Monroe. If this game stays close into fourth quarter I give the advantage to the Falcons. They play fresh legs on both sides of the ball and are deep at the back positions. This will be a really good one at Darrell Carter Stadium.

I agree, this matchup should be class 3A game of the week to start playoffs. I watched Trigg county play Fort Campbell, and what a game, both teams battled!!! Trigg quarterback good, runnin back Jones rushed for over 200yds on Fort Campbell's tough defense. Monroe county has good tradition, good luck to the Falcons.
  2. I've said all along that McCracken County was a top 10 team in Class 6A. I think they made their statement tonight
I attended game, McCracken County QB did whatever and whenever against Ft. Campbell, with damn good supporting cast of players. Also, MCC QB faked, twisted and spurned at least three Fort Campbell defenders enroute to 30yd run. MCC defense is fast and physical. MCC is well coached team.
  3. I am happy to see this game happening. It should have taken place each season and I hope it continues.

These two small Western Kentucky schools are exactly what high school football is about.

There will be a lot of history and tradition on the field Friday night.

What does Mayfield have 9 or 10 State Championships?

FC has 6 State Championships and two Kentucky Mr. Football alumni.

I don't have any idea who wins Friday; no more Jonathan Jackson for the Cardinals and no more Coach Berner for the Falcons. Coach Morris remains for Mayfield and FC has an exciting kid named Triston Luke at RB that has the potential to be in the Mr. Football conversation someday. I hope this one goes down to the wire.

    Totally agree!!!
  4. Wouldn't surprise me to see a role reversal of last year.. In 2011, PT beats FC handily in the regular season, only to come back and get beat by them in the playoffs... I think it could very well happen the other way around this year.. PT is the most unpredictable team I've ever seen and not just this years team either.. You never know what your gonna get from week to week, year to year...They always have a good amount of talented players and speed, but, I question alot of there play calling and emotion and, to me, that's a direct reflection on the coaching...
    I agree totally 100%.
