If Warner rests his seniors on senior night, shame on him.

If Ryle loses next week to Highlands, would that be a three win season? The last time I can remember a three win season at Ryle was 2001.

Anyone at this game?

Because, quite frankly, Ohio football is the major leagues , and except for 3 or 4 programs in the state, Kentucky is not. Kentucky athletic identity is basketball not football. You just do not have the tradition and history of football here in KY that exists in Ohio. Ryle is still a relatively young school (about 20 years old) , and they have only been competitive for about the last 6.
IMO Ryle or most any other school should be playing Cov. Cath and Highlands even before playing the elite Ohio programs.
Please do some research before you start making comments like this. Plenty of "tradition and history" in football within the state of Ky. As a matter of fact, there are three schools ranked in the top ten winningnest high school football programs in the U.S. If my memory serves me correctly, Ohio had just two.

Great sport! Getting better attention now than in the past. Glad you could make it and appreciate your comments.

Was only there for a couple of hours and it was the first time I have ever gone to a match. Jam packed action and great competition, 4 mats going at once. I put the rest of the pics up on facebook at this address for those who would like to see them. Kids really get after it.
Now you know what you've been missing

The West Virginia high school in which I participated football, one had to play at least one play in 21 quarters during the 10 game season. Keep in mind this was more than 35 years ago.

If this is the case, then the KHSAA needs to make some serious changes.

If people are mentioning some decent but not great talent than I cant believe Arliss Beach from Ashland has not been mentioned..he was a very good high school running back...Arliss went on and had a decent career at UK and was drafted but didn't play much in the NFL..he was real fun to watch in high school

any updates?

Being sick and playing in this heat can't be could hopefully they do what is best and take care of this kid.
fully agree

Elliott hurt.
was it from a hit or is it from his sickness?
-
Or he realized he needed his best player in the game.

I have been to HS stadiums all over the state and Ashland's Putnam stadium is the best in my opinion.
I agree its just an awesome atmosphere and great history
-
Ryle needs more stands!!! Way too many children running around on the hills on the end zone end and near the field house. Plus it gets too packed up near the restroom and consession area. But all in all its a very nice place to play football on a friday night with the farm land and open space around the stadium. If Ryle added more seating it could be one of the best places to play in the state with the new field and all.
-
Way too much history at Putnam stadium in Ashland for it not to be a part of the best/coolest in the state....plus the horse shoe type stadium is awesome
-
I hope everyone on both sides get the pleasure of playing in this game and come away with no major injuries.
Most talented Ryle team?
in KY Football (High School)
Posted
Best start if not tied for best start in young school history, is this the most talented team ryle has produced?
