  1. Sounds to me you may have been part of the crowd standing on the dock waving goodbye. My question was legit, tell me how this guy is different than Coach L and his philosophies? Or ignore it. Whatever.

Why do you want to air dirty laundry about Coach L on a forum like this? It is not appropriate and I will not bite. Suffice it to say that a change was needed. It was made. Move on.

  2. So how is this different than Coach L's philosophy?

Your kidding me, right? Do you really want to go there? Isn't it time to move on? That ship has sailed and judging by all the smiling faces in the crowd last night, and the kids energy I'd say it was time. Didn't King Louie mention that some of the seniors were disappointed that they weren't going to get a chance to play for the new coach? A winning record doesn't make a winning program.

  3. Anyone meet the new coach tonite?

Yep, looks like he has the fundamental building blocks to put together a strong team.

    Highlights:

    - Focus on discipline, hard work, attention to detail, aggressive rugid style, won't put up with attitude, "no individual is more important than the team"

    - Practice will begin June 1st with focus on individual skills and team drills

    - Says he doesn't mind kids playing 2 or more sports "brings some aggressiveness" to the table

    - Doesn't have his assistants lined up yet (reviewing resumes of people in the area)

  4. I'm not sure....it could be just another rumor. But I've heard it recently a couple of times.

I, for one, am very pleased with the hire. Welcome him and his family and am looking forward to seeing what he can get done. The fact that he was the Dean of Discipline coupled with learning from a great coach - should do this program some good.

Yes, I think his resume will help getting kids from the CCH feeder schools back interested in going to CCH vs. looking at other area schools. As for the prep school idea - that's a pipe dream.

Rowe did his job. Made a solid hire - with no politicial influences - getting the program back on track....

The fact that he has a son that plays - can only be a positive IMO. Heard he should actually be a sophomore but that he is starting at CCH next year as a freshman. His name is Nick and from all accounts he is darn good. CCH can use a solid shooting guard. If he makes the team better - so be it.

I think all the parents are happy and just want to see things improve for the team. The fact that this guy is coming in without any preconceived notions and any political agendas and will be able to evaluate the kids with a fresh set of eyes is a very good thing. If a kid makes the team, or gets playing time - he's earned it. This is a good thing.

  5. Best of luck to Coach L. He had a good career at CCH and along with so many other coaches that have remained their for years (Krumpelbeck, Tieman, Ray) whenever any of them decide to leave it will be there decision. Some people may find joy in this but as an alum of CCH I believe too much is going to be made about parent(s) and lack of loyalty to the coaches of CCH. Let this person leave with dignity and realize that over 25 years at one school is truly remarkable.

Since the 70's the basketball team has only had 3 head coaches (Schneider, Tieman, Listerman). We will all support the new coach and look forward to our future successes.

  6. Team Kentucky is now looking for players who are entering their Frosh to Senior year! For the last 3 months we thought we had a team, then this week it ended up us not having a team, so now we are looking for about 6 more players! I have arranged my schedule with FIBA around this spring already to coach too..... Just send me a message if interested,

I know of some quality (seniors to be) basketball players that are looking to play spring/summer. Who should I have them contact?

  7. It's a senior class that is going to be very difficult to replace.

I look forward to seeing how the Haden kid does next year. He seems to have some potential. I also look forward to Nick Fredrick getting some run. They will need his ability to hit the outside shot and handle the ball.

Very difficult to replace in a lot of ways - most especially leadership. They are all good young men to the underclassman and I would have liked to see their fate play out differently. You mention just Hayden and Frederick. What are your thoughts on the other juniors returning: Massie, Arnzen and Cleves?

  8. So you think the author will come forward? I find that difficult to believe.

I believe that the person that wrote the email will meet with the school's administration over this matter and stand up for what they think is the basis for the email. At least that is my understanding. Now if you are asking whether people throughout NKY will ever know - that's another story. But really it isn't anyone eleses business. The email should not have been forwarded from throughout NKY.

  9. What's most interesting is that it was only sent to the varsity basketball players parents currently on the CCH basketball team this year. Someone within that group is the one that sent it to the masses and how it was seen throughout NKY. Someone must have thought it was worthwhile for others outside the CCH basketball program to read it and respond accordingly. The person that wrote the email could not have expected that it would have been circulated like it was.

  10. Interesting. My guess is there are only a handful that actually KNOW who wrote it and I'm guessing that number is really 1, 2, or 3.

So I must ask. How do you know?

I know who didn't write the email. It is unfortunate that one persons name continues to come up in Listerman's circle just because he is a very involved alumni of the school and happens to have a son on the team. There is a small group of people that know who wrote the email. I hope that the person that wrote the email comes forward so that those that didn't can stop having to answer questions from the school's administration, parents and people from other schools. There are issues within the basketball program that needs to be addressed but dirty laundry should not be aired publicly.

  11. Baker and Connelly hold the key for CCH. If Baker plays like he did the last time these two teams played and Connelly performs as expected (10+ pts) then I believe that CCH will win by 5+. If they both struggle, CCH will not win this game. Thelen and Stauffer will cross each other out and the guard play is about equal (slight edge to Ryle).

  12. They're 2-2 since the "email."

It has no effect - positive or negative IMO.

It's pretty much died down and gone away. Most have a pretty good idea of its origin.

Clyde - I can personally tell you that the person accused of writing the email absolutely had nothing to do with it. Some of you may know who wrote it but you are all very wrong. The person that wrote the email will come out after the season and the person being accused will be vindicated.

  13. Dixie should have won this game - no surprise. What I find most surprising is the fact the SH is going to another regional tournament with Faust. Dixie may be the favorite to win the region and SH has no chance but you have to take a hat off to Faust and what he has done to even get them to this point. I know it is a weak district, which is a joke, but SH beating Lloyd is what makes the 9th region so great IMO.
