  1. Ryle, Cov Cath, Conner, and St. Henry for certain. Not sure if anyone else. Probably doesn't matter, as it seems like this thing gets rained out (at least partially) every year. :irked:

Do you know if there is a schedule or bracket somewhere so I can look at it? I doubt it gets rained out, as this week looks pretty nice!

  2. Ryle's came in handy today, as they play a game that no way, shape, or how would have been played without one. In fact, absolutely certain that any games on the field Saturday would have been washed.

Only downside to the tarp is that the rain has to go somewhere and on our field, it goes into foul territory off 1B and 3B lines and it was a muckpit in that area. But the field was in very good shape. Definitely need to plan ahead for drainage off the tarp when using one.

St. Henry's field has drains, one in left field and one in right, and since the field sits on a hill, they just open the gate and the water pours down a blacktop road thing into more drains. So, St. Henry is propbably the best draining field out there.

  3. A new, decent quaity full-sized infield tarp (160' x 160') will be somewhere in the $3500 range, plus shipping (which isn't cheap since it's so expensive). You also need some type of roller for it, which costs around $250. Probably a good idea to keep some tarp tape around because they occasionally get small holes/tears and the tape is also expensive (about $130 for 100' of it). All in all, not a cheap proposition.

That's why you wear gym shoes when putting the tarp on and off the field.

  4. I watched the CovCath frosh scrimmage against each other at CovCath today! :dancingpa

Hey it was a baseball game and I needed a fix, as it has been a while since I watched a game! :thumb: Yea, my wife thought the same thing!

Weather was only worse in the LexCath vs. CovCath game of a few years ago, but some of the CovCath kids did impress me, or as much as I could see of them, all bundled up!

Spoke to a couple of them individually and encouraged them all on!

Couldn't believe all the lefties on the turf (game was on the football field) even had to ask Coach Eck was he sure these were CovCath kids!:idunno:

I mean I don't think I have ever seen as many lefties on a CovCath team at one time in my life!

    Good luck Freddie's!

You didn't answer the question. "Who are the better freshman this season?"
