Beechwood will heat it up way to much for the Polar Bears.

Congrats Camels! Wow! My WKU Tops are winning! My Camels are winning! Please don't wake me up! And I think Coach Lickert pulled a Willie T play tonight too!

This topic gets discussed every once in while on the Kentucky Wrestling forum. Here's a few articles that have been referenced over there.
NFL Players That Are Former Wrestlers In High School or College
As far as injuries Wrestling is one of the least injury incurring sportsin high school. Actually less than swimming!

Ahhh...the magic of the by week strikes again!

Right.....and Peyton Manning will not throw a completion vs. the Texans today....hope their was humor with your post????
No I'm serious. As my username implies, I am loyal to a fault. And just a year ago Bowling Green was calling for Taggert's head. By the end of the season last year and as of today, people are now throwing red rose petals in Willie T's path. I'm standing behind Joker for at least one more year.

ESPN reported UK had 46 freshman and sophomores out the of the 70 member squad that traveled to the Swamp. That's a young team. I believe Joker has the ability to start to turn things around if given another year.

Facilities look pretty good to me. Here's a tour of the renovated Nutter Training Facility from this summer.

WoW! I even talked to a family member of one of the coaching staff who didn't expect them to win. This has probably blown my pick of the week contest scores. Oh well so much for the intel. Congrats Bellevue.

My father never went to college a day in his life, but you'd think he had a Phd from UK the way he is fiercely loyal to the UK basketball program. So we were raised drinking the blue kool-aid too. I think just because they are the University of Kentucky, for people in the state with no loyalty/experience with another college (WKU, Murray, etc.) or a specific city (Louisivlle, Bowling Green, etc.), UK becomes 'your' program by default. If UK had been named the University of Lexington, there would not be the huge number of 'U of Lex' fans as there are for the University of KENTUCKY. Plus I've read that Rupp purposely avoided interstate play back in the day with the intention of making UK THE state team. With a son at WKU, I'm now a proud Topper fan!

Didn't get to see the game but had several phone calls reporting the win. Go Tops!

Anytime Big Red can get some national TV time is a good time! Go Tops!

Here come the "rural schools have the advantage over urban schools" arguments.

formerkywrestler must not have walked around the arena all the way. Behind the 117 - 119 section, there was a Fresh Market concession stand with chicken wraps, vegetarian wraps, salads, turkey sandwich, etc.
Overall I think the Altech arena was an improvement. One thing many people probably don't think of his handicap accessibility. Altech arena was far more handicap accessible than the dungeon.
The crowd was more subdued at finals than any year I've ever seen it mostly due I think to the late start of the finals. People were so tired if they didn't have a dog in the fight they just left. There were very few people left by the time the bigger boys started wrestling.
