Did anyone notice how disrespectfull these Holmes Kids were to the coaching staff and the officials?
-
Dick Vories is a no brainer
-
Newport by alot!!!!!!!!!
-
Absolutely not. The staff needs to be more involved with youth football and the middle school program. Start at the ground level and rebuild!
I agree with this statement; and no way they should cancel the football program.
-
They will have Jones back who played off the bench sparingly and I think they are going to have the Merrill twins who played JV at Highlands last year. I heard they transferred to Newport which is where their father played and graduated.
I knew Andrew was back didn't know Austin was and they are not twins they are uncle and nephew lol.
-
They are not brothers.
-
The Beuter kid will be big for the Breds this year this kid can flat out shoot the basketball, losing G Pangallo would hurt any team but this kid should see a lot of minutes and take some of Grants scoring on.
-
I do believe he was 16 and 11 without demarko the year before, although dermarko was a big help to the team but players like Cody, Casey, Boo, and Brandon Sizemore working out all summer and really improving was just as big as demarko coming. Not sure if there is one player can have a 13 win turn around, but he was a big part of what all these kids did.

Just making a general statement from his rankings over the years. For example I thought Mikey Gabbard from Boone Co was too low in his rankings in last years senior class. I am willing to bet that when his 2011 rankings come out that players like Jake Giesler, Kellen Smith, Jake Thelen and Bobby Stauffer will not make his top 25. These players will have better resumes from high school and AAU then some players who are in the top 25 but again it is all subjective.
Amen brother!!!

Congrats to Rod Snapp, I do not know much about him but he was an Asst. Coach at Dixie for four years.
Good luck to the new coach have heard good things about him, the team itself will be led by Travis (Choppy) Jones. Should be very athletic will need some inside players to step up.
-
It was reported they had over 40 applicants and interviews start very soon.
Yeah last I heard was 26 applicants.
-
Do not like the new format at all, mine is five times slower than it used to be and can not figure out why.
-
Any news on this job yet?
I was wondering the same, if any news on the basketball opening. You would think that the system would try and fill this quickly they also have a baseball opening.
-
Should have probably happened after last year and his succesful return to Seattle, but a great career nonetheless. Even with all the injuries, he was still one of the greats and will take his proper place in Cooperstown in 5 years.
Glad to see him finally hang up the spikes should have been five or more years ago, although he was a great player it was longer than one year overdue. He was not very polite to the kids at the ballpark or in public either (in cincy) , acted as if he was having no fun at all when he got to cincy.
-
Good luck to coach Russell, I know he has wanted this job for awhile now.
-
Congrats to the Tigers good luck to both teams in regional Monday.
-
Wow. I'm guessing probably not a lot of people would have picked Bellevue to win the district at the start of the season (including yours truly). So apparently this team IS indeed more than capable of playing some good baseball without the world famous Hunter Jones?!? :sssh: Congrats to them and Coach Sanders.
A bit soon to say that they have not won the district yet, still gotta play Newport today in district final.
-
Wow, calm down. Its always Newport that gets the blame for not voting to seed. Why would they? Newport is becoming a smaller school every year and will probably be a single A school in a few years but you never hear anything about Bellevue or Dayton not seeding. Yeah Newport did win the region in basketball "so what" good for them! This just sounds like sour grapes to me and if whatever team you want to win if they are good enough to win they will. There is to much stuff in life to be stressed about for you to be worried over a blind draw. One last thing, it is not the kids fault on this subject but you want run up the score on them![/quote
:notworthy:

I get the feeling that a lot of people are feeling Holmes is all of a sudden going fall off dramatically and be a run of the mill 9th region team.
I believe with what they lost everyone believes they were going to fall off dramatically, even Coach Henley. But good luck to the new coach hopefully they will not fall as bad as most think they will.
-
Has he ever coached the type of players Holmes has?
Gonna be a totally different ballgame than with the mountain kids, but good luck to Holmes and the new coach.
-
Travis Jones-Jr.Newport. Hitting well over 400 and playing great at SS. This kid is a real good ball player that no one hear's about because Newport is down this year and the team does not call in his stats. For anyone that has played against or watched him play, what is your opinion on this young man?
Nice player to watch, can't wait to see what he does with his summer team.
-
This kid can absolutly play, and play's the game really hard, nice player.
-
Well good thing your opinion means nothing, cause coach osborne thought different. I know for a fact he his the one that called brandon about coming to Gtown. Not sure but I do think Brandon has to pay very little to not only continue his basketball career but good a great education at a great school and he should be proud of that. As far as Casey he chose to turn down better basketball schools than Gtown to go to school at Eastern.
-
I will give you that Gtown will be a big step of from Holmes, but you can say that about any Northern Ky kid who has sign to play anywhere. Not sure how you can say he was shakey against them, he played them 3 times and had 6 assist to 3 turnovers I will take that against a good time like Holmes every night. One thing Gtown will get is a kid that will work his tail off and do what every it takes to win.He is a kid since his freshman year has got better and better every year. I think he will continue to improve. It might take him a few years but he will do what every it takes.
