  1. I thought Playan was a Lineman? Ryle does have Ryan Hill though he was pretty good last year.

I heard Ryle may put Plvan in the backfield running some fullback. Austin Trego also got some carries before reinjurying his shoulder. Ryan Hill play QB last year and had a couple of good games as well. It will be an interesting year at Ryle.

  2. I know that Ryle has Brad Webber (6' 3", 280) returning as well as Lex Sowards (6' 1" 260) and Tyler Morgan ( 6' 2" 230). Ryle has several O-Linemen coming back that were starters last year. Travis Pavy ( 6' 1" 220) and Dylan Plvan (5' 11" 225) are also two that may be playing tight end. The seniors for the 2012 team, are the same team that went undeafeted as Freshmen.

  3. The 4 finalists the NKFCA will be sending forth to the NFF Scholar-Athlete “That’s My Boy” Award banquet will be:

    1. Adam Kozerski – Holy Cross

    2. Ryan Smith – Ryle

    3. Patrick Towles – Highlands

    4. Evan Talkers – CCH

The winner will be announced at the above mentioned banquet in February.

  4. Clyde,

I respectfully disagree with your statment regarding concern of the Ryle program after this game. Did you state this concern before the game? Have you stated this concern regarding any of the other programs that HHS beat this year? There were 8 starters that did not play last night......so take 8 starters from a team and have them on the bench and you hope that your back ups will fill in? 5 additional player's "BANGED UP" (if you need the names of the 8, I can give you each name and their role as starters at the begining of the year.).....8 starters out?...YES!!!

First of all many people thought that the Ryle program was rebuilding this year and if they finished 5-5 that would be a good season. When Elliott went out most thought that Ryle was done, they will not win any more games. So they are 6-4 and seeded #2 in the play-offs and you are throwing the coaching staff under the bus. What makes you think that his attitude for game 10 was different then game 1 (Both non-district games)? Are you saying that when he stepped out on the field, he gave up?

I live in this community and if you think that I have a black eye because of last night, then you're wrong. It is easy to be an arm chair coach. Do I think that he was trying to make sure that his starters are rested for next week, probably and does this happen this time of year? Yes. Do you rest a pitcher an extra game so he can start him on a given day if you need to...yes...Do you pull players early to ensure that they do not get injured becasue of a playoff game the next week? Yes...Highlands is a great team and will do excellent during the playoffs and win it. Is the Ryle program that same this year as it was last year? No... Will it be the same next year? No. I think he has re-evaluted the team and made some changes. If Ryle was 4-6 or 3-7, I would defintely support your statement of 180 degrees....but they are not.

As for the on-sides kick at the ned of the game, I remember a coach saying that the job is to put the ball in the end zone and the other teams job is to stop them. Trust me I know we did not do a good job of stopping Highlands, but I am not throwing in the towel.

  5. I agree that the Ryle line looks good; they did a great job blocking. Once Davis went down, i am sure that several Ryle parents wondered if Hill could do the job. I thought he did a great job. Once Hill broke the line of scrimmage, it appeared that with his speed and quickness he was able to out run MANY Dixie defeneders. 254 yards AND he trhrew for a TD....He still needs to take the line out for dinner or even some Edy's ice-cream...

  6. No sour grapes, Camel County beat Ryle and those are the facts. YES, I picked Ryle by 3 TD's. Just seemed odd that the opposing team decided to jump on the home teams benches to celebrate...I just have never seen it before. In my opinion it was an over reaction...that is it, my opinion...I remember someone saying that when you get into the end zone, act like you have been there before.....when you win a big game......act like you have been there before....Maybe I am old school....Winning a district is just one steps of several....that is all I meant by it....Nothing more, nothing less...just seemed odd. I just arrived in this area Georgia, I do not know the history of either team....just what I have seen live and looked up on the internet...No sour grapes (but I do like a fine box of wine)

  7. I am not discounting the fact that it was a good win. Was it an over reaction? I did not ask the head coach of Ryle. But this is the first time that I have ever since the opposing team jump on the benchs' of the home team a yell into the crowd. Were they taunting, doubt, but since this is the first time since 2001 that CC beat Ryle now I understand why they were very excited. District champion is a LONG way to state champion...Good Luck CC.

  8. Campbell County played a soft first half but came out in the second half and Tyler Druham single handedly drove the ball down the field and beat up the Ryle defense, I think it is a great win for Campbell County. The celebration was a little excessive, doing what they did after the game. Evidently one can tell they have not won the district in a few years. None the less, congrats. As for the coaches not knowing what down in was at the end of the game, like I posted earlier, don't assume anything of the sort.
