Nice preview but the RB/LB’s name from 2014 is Cody Crider. He went on to play 5 years at SIU where he had a great career playing LB for them.

McCracken had a dozen kids including mostly starters suspended vs Graves as the result of a off the field incident. If they are still suspended it will be a fast running clock. Even with them it should be a comfortable Cards win
They had 6 starters out. 5 on defense and 1 on offense. It was 38-6 Graves with 2:00 and some change to go when graves took their starters out. McCracken scored twice on graves' jv/freshmen.

Great read as always. I wanted to add to week 0 players of the week. Graves County's Sr. Receiver Trevor Grant broke a single game school record with 264yds receiving. Back up QB Cody Goatley also broke a single game school record with 405yds passing. He accounted for 5 tds with 3 passing and 2 rushing.

Awesome post Coach!

Not sure Graves County would break the top 10, but if Murray, Calloway, and Butler County are in the conversation, Graves should be as well. Beat both Murray and Calloway last year, lost to Christian County by 7 and lost to Owensboro by 1. Some key players returning, so Graves should be improved this year.

Proud of these young men! They gave up their Saturday to help tornado victims in Mayfield/Graves County.

Eagle Pride has gotten some bad information. Coaches break down film on their own on Saturdays and then spend 6-7 hours Sunday afternoon meeting and game planning for that week's opponent. The scouting report with hudl data breakdowns etc... is ready for the players Monday afternoon. Friday mornings are for the team devotional, not for game planning for that night's opponent, ha ha.

Their QB Miles played the entire game. Good win Eagles.

Congratulations to Cody on a well deserved accomplishment! Cody rushed for over 2,600yds and had 80+ tackles with 3 ints at OLB this season. He was also the state's leading rusher. He helped Graves County to it's first ever State Championship appearance! SIU is getting a great young man!
Hudl Highlights:
-
Cody Crider - 6'1 195 4.5 40 time (yes, that's official, he ran it twice at WKU's camp) - Graves County. Leading rusher in the state (2,300+yds). Two DI offers. The most underrated player in the state.
-
Hard to believe Graves County is not in your top 10.
-
Great game! Cody Crider had 30 carries for 424 yds and 7tds. The Oline did an incredible job upfront. This makes 3 straight district titles for Graves.
-
Graves County RB/LB Cody Crider was offered this morning by Murray State. This is Cody's first offer, he has interest from Eastern Michigan, WKU, Austin Peay, UT Martin, among others.
-
Heath has offers from Austin Peay and now Murray State. He has interest from UK, WKU, MTSU, Bowling Green State, Eastern Michigan, among others.

Relax, I'm sure it was just an oversight, great numbers for Puckett
Just like to promote our kids when I can. They deserve it.

I appreciate it. I thought I knew most of the attractive Caldwell moms or sisters but she was a new one on me.
It's uncanny how close the passing numbers are for Sindelar and Guhy.
Great article each week, but not sure why you continue to ignore Puckett from Graves. So here you go:
Peyton Puckett (Graves) - 51 of 79, 894 yards, 9 TDs, 3 INT, 10 rushes, (48) yards and 1 rushing TD (*through 3 games)
Luke Guhy (Mayfield) – 61-of-93, 858 yards, 8 TDs, 3 INT, 14 rushes, (-37) yards
Elijah Sindelar (Caldwell County) – 60-of-92, 844 yards, 12 TDs, 2 INT, 16 rushes, 106 yards, 3 TD
Zyaire Hughes (McCracken County) – 60-of-98, 894 yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs, 40 rushes, 121 yards, 4 TDs

I would like to add Peyton Puckett from Graves County to your QB comparison.
30-44 610yds 5TDs Rushed for 1 TD 2INTs Through 2 games
The good jobs?

I would consider Graves County a "good job". There are good and bad aspects with every job but the good at Graves far outweigh the bad in my opinion.
Good support from the administration
Great support from boosters/parents
Great area to live: close to LBL / Ky Lake. Around 2hrs to Nashville, St. Louis, Memphis, and Bowling Green. The cost of living is reasonable, home prices are very affordable. Mayfield itself is still recovering from the tornado but still an enjoyable place to live and raise a family.
The talent runs in cycles like most rural schools but Graves wins consistently and has had multiple 8-11 win seasons over the last decade or so with a State Championship appearance in 2014.
The HC stipend is a little over $13,000 with assistant stipends that are as good or better than most programs in the area.
Anyway, I like the topic its interesting to hear about programs throughout the state.
