  1. MC 59 - SL 50, MC Hawkins, and SL Sanders are two very talented Sophomores. Hawkins is a very smooth athletic player who can play up on the rim and run the floor like a deer. Hawkin's finished the game with 9 points and 5 rebounds. Sanders, is a very talented PG with great handles and floor vission. He really handled MC ball pressure well tonight scoring inside and outside. Sanders finished with 13 Points, 6 assist.

  2. Good list but I would switch Hatton and Snyder. These boys are both extremely talented, however I have seen them play many times especially during the summer AAU and Hatton has a certain edge over Snyder. It is a tough call but I would place Hatton as 1 and Snyder as 2

Quentin, has a complete game as a point guard, Brandon's more of a shooting guard. I agree with Rainman, J Davis, may be the number one player in the class.

  3. How did Blake Sanders look in the scrimmage? I have enjoyed watching him play for KY Elite the past couple years. He is one of the best in the state in his class.

Sanders, played well in the scrimmage don't know his final box score I know he shot 6 for 6 on the FT line. He looks bigger, faster and stronger this year over last year. Sanders will have to play very well this season for South Laurel to be successful.

  4. Who will be the potential Scorers for South Laurel this year and which players will fill the top 7-8 spots for playing time?

South Laurel, started Tabor, Hale, Smith, Khan and Sanders in South Laurel vs Lynn Camp. They played 2/20 Min halves, running clock, srimage South Laurel won 57-17. South Laurel could run 10 to 12 players deep because their Sophomore Class being so strong and fast.

  5. That is his natural position. The problem is he will probably be one of only two starters that is 6 feet tall, although I guess that doesn't matter as much on the offensive end as it will on the defensive end. I expect to see Corbin running the floor much more this year than in the past few years.[/QUOT

I thought the Running Hound's looked good last night in the inter-team scrimmage Smith, Igo and Freeman looked pretty good. When they get the football players back I think this team will to be very competitive. How do you think the Running Hounds looked last ???

  6. South laurel must find away to replace 95% of their scoring from last year. This will be their biggest problem to solve this season; but if they do South will win their district.
Whitley, Williamsburg, Corbin and South they're very equal this year so whichever team get's some dristict wins at home should have the upper hand for the season district title.
  7. When opinions becomes judgments at which point do we chance hurting a youngman. There is a fine line that seperates an opinion from a judgment a line as adults we should not cross.

Please be considerate when speaking about a youngman's game. Most of your opinions are based on your relationship with these youngmen by knowing there parents, friends, coach's ect. Most of you have never watched these youngmen play againist Top National Talent, in a National tournament so your opinions and rankings are like comparing Apples to Oranges. So why make obviating opionions and post negative comments about a youngmans game. Please realize your opinion becomes a judgment when your post become personal about a youngmans game.

  8. South Laurel's, Brad Sizemore is a great hire for Garrard County. Their fortunate to get a young up coming coach of this caliber. A friend of our family from South Laurel, told me Sizemore eats and sleeps basketball. Said Sizemore; has a unbelievable work ethic and works hard with younger players. He said; He would establish a Youth AAU program ASAP and work hard with young players to develop them.

Congradulation to Sizemore and Garrard County.

  9. I mentioned in another thread there would be no KY Elite or Legends. KY Elite -- with the team from last year -- is no longer. The new KY Elite is not playing AAU because they have way too many grade exceptions and are going the USSSA route. Dylan Portwood is the only kid who played for last year's version of KY Elite that is on this version, which is ran by a different group. Not sure why the Legends aren't playing, but my guess is it's because they aren't planning to go to nationals anyway.

I believe Jackson Davis is the top player for Hoops Elite. Don't know of anybody else playing for them.

From what I hear their is no new Ky Elite, program all Ky Elite teams are under the same program. This years 12, 13 and 14 under team's coach's, coached the 14 under team last year. :thumb:

  10. Congradulation to both Sanders and Monroe on their freshman season! Not an easy task to run point for teams that start mostly seniors. Being a good point guard its not always about scoring. It's about taking care of the ball, distributing the ball where it needs to be, and keeping all your teammates involved. I think each have done this very well! It takes alot of courage and composure to handle the ball 80 to 90% of the time a lot of preasure on both of these young men. Best of luck in the future!

  11. I have a pretty good idea what you might bYes, e seeing and you may be right, although a lot of times kids that are not all that in their middle school days turn out to be better high school players. I can think of a couple of recent kids(Madison Johnson & Josh Smith) at Corbin that did not start during some of their middle school careers at CMS, but ended up as 3 and 4 year starters when they got to high school. Hopefully the coaching staff can develop a couple of more that can be as successful as those two.

May be the reason you don't remember Madison Johnson, playing middle school ball at Corbin is because he palyed at Lynn Camp. He may of transfered in to Corbin, around the end of his 8th grade year. Opps he's not one of Corbin's own.:D

  12. Does the numbers 26 to 3 ring a bell???? I guess maybe that was 3 breaks huh......

Corbin should be a heavy favorite to go back to Rupp this year and if I were a Corbin fan I really would just enjoy this season more than worrying about Wright needing to be tossed and St. Johns fouls because I have seen the future of 13th region basketball and well...........................As I said if I were a Corbin fan , I would really enjoy this season:D

    :dancingpa Thank You! Hoops22!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:ylsuper:

  13. I agree South could have won this game. Karr had a good look on one of his last two attempts. South's Man to Man defense really got after the Hounds and that seemed to turn the tide of the game. Makes you wonder how the outcome may have been different if they had played Man D the whole game? Sanders was very impressive as was Khan and Karr off the bench for the Cards. The intensity level really rises when these substitutes enter the game. I thought Sizemore played well off the bench for Corbin as well. He made two big 3's and several nice interior passes as well. Another Classic in this series between two good high school programs. Hope both teams continue to improve throughout the season.
