I seen him playing with Ky Select at AAU state and he played very good for playing down low. I think he and Barker owned the paint and glass for Select that weekend. Can we get a Christian McClendon update? People touted him as a top player in the state but I haven't seen him all summer. -
Did Pouncy pick up any kids to play up in the 17u?Great run by KY Select at the State Tournament this weekend. The boys had a thin roster and played their tails off in the U17 division, making it to the Final Four before falling to a very good KYA All Star team. Well done. I will be shocked if the KYA All Stars don't win the championship. They are a loaded team with multiple weapons. Great weekend of basketball in Lexington. Anyone have the roster for the KYA team? -
I have to agree with you.If you made me pick I'd say McClendon is their best all-around player right now. -
Carter committed a lot of turnovers. What happened with Carter? Coach didn't play him much tonight -
I think McClendon is about 6'1 or 6'2 nowWhat does HC's starting lineup look like, position and height?I know of the following:
5'11 Christian McClendon G
6'2 Jake Burger G
6'4 Jerry Arlinghaus F
Who else? Allen? Broering? Avery?

I watched him play against Scott ad it seems to me he is playing out of position they had him on the block most of the game.Thought I remembered Walter saying last year that the McLendon kid could light it up. I have not seen a box yet where he has put up good percentage games -
I'm sorry without Burger.Holy Cross may be jumping up a few more spots soon. That Boone lose was with Burger. -

I think he just needs to slow down and take his time. It look to me he was rushing his shot from the line, but he played very good and strong game for Holy Cross.2-9 is correct. -
I got two more really good players from the 90's Joe Harney and Andre Mcclendon from Holy Cross.
-
I think it makes Holmes a better team without Keavon Rice because of the drama he brings to the team.
-
I just heard that Keavon Rice was kicked off of Holmes team and trying to enroll into Holy Cross.
-
I talked to Mcclendon uncle and he said Christian was ruled eligible to play over the summer.
-
Avery went to Holy Cross with Mcclendon and Beal. From what I hear Pitts is not there either.
-
Holy Cross also has added Jalan Avery to there list of new comers.
-
I'll stick with Mcclendon.Trust me, I know enough about the game to made educated assessments. I have seen these kids (all of the top players in this class) play too many times to not know what I am talking about. Don't take it personally, just my opinion. You are entitled to yours.I'll stick with Richardson, Monroe and Sampson.

I remember McClendon at SVMS and they were a really good team that was undefeated for the time he was there. But when he left they went from te best team to an average team. I don't understand how you come up with some of these crazy comments but the guys who rank the players must have McClendon that high for a reason. Maybe they went by watching them play.Excellent points qryche. I have seen these kids play for years and would put them in this order- Richardson, Monroe and Sampson. Tons of great players in this age group at each position but I wouldn't put McClendon in the top three. His shot is unorthodox, ball handling a little shakey and his toughness has been questioned in the past. However, his experience playing with good athletes at SVMS and behind the guys at Holmes should help him on the smaller stage at HC.

Toughness in questioned behind Richardson,Monroe, and Sampson. All I can say on that is you most have a personal dislike for the kid or not know basketball because some of this stuff doesn't make sense. When was the last you watched this kid play to question his toughness or to put him behind any of these guys?Excellent points qryche. I heard Christian was ruled eligible to play at Holy Cross today.

I can tell you haven't watced this kid shoot the ball because he has the perfect shot form. Just from watching this weekend you can put strong aggressive defenders on him and he went past them. And they put small quicker defenders on him and he post them up on the block. And they left chrisian open and he hit the open shot, and just from watching the game i notice the elite had christian on the point sometimes and he didn't turn the ball over.Richardson from Scott Co is heads above McClendon IMO. He creates, has an aggressive handle and can knock down shots. I just havent been sold on McClendon yet, he shoots the ball from his chest also, if you put a strong aggressive defender on him you should be able to keep him from shooting the 3 which is probably his best strength. -
I strongly disagree with you I watched them at nationals last year and at the hoopfest this weekend and Mclendon seems to be ahead of richardson when it comes to tough teams. I talked to mclendon father and he said christian is going to holy cross because is uncle Andre is the new asst. head coach.Richardson from Scott Co is heads above McClendon IMO. He creates, has an aggressive handle and can knock down shots. sophomore to beRefresh my memory as to the age of this youngster. -
He was there but didn't practice because of a hurt ankle. He, McLendon was not in attendence yesterday. -
I was at every game of the Select and Brandon played great but scored only about 15 to 18 points a game.Brandon Hatton had a very good weekend for Kentucky Select. He was scoring almost at will. He scored 30 plus vs Team Toledo, 30 plus vs team SYF, and 38 vs Team Jordan. He shot the ball very well and no one could stop him from getting to the basket. I believe he was one of the better players that I saw in the 15u division even though he is 14u. Congrats to the entire Kentucky Select team they competed very well.
