Wow what a shocker and a great loss for NCC. It will be very difficult for anyone to replace him. He is a really outstanding coach and a great person.
So no one really had no idea? Heard he might coach AAU? Maybe just a rumor.

I really hate hearing this news. I am sure whoever steps in will do a good job. Coach Dawn will be greatly missed. A true class act.

Brossart is in the 10th NCC is in the 9th get your facts straight .[/quote

Interesting. :idunno: Why did she leave?
Family decided to move. Dads job transfer so coming back to NKY. :thumb:
-
How so? Last year's team won the 9th - brighter than that? NCC lost 4 more seniors. Who's NDA losing? NCC is going to have trouble getting past Brossart the next 2-3 years.
Going to have a strong sophmore and junior class. They are also have an incoming junior transferring back that played for them her freshman year. They will compete for the 9th region.

The turnovers were even at twenty. Mason lost the game due to 1-16 shooting in the first quarter and 15-30 FT shooting.:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Did you keep stats? I was up to 20 when I quit counting. It is what it is. Good Luck next year.

I can't believe the coaches decision on both sides to run their regular offense instead of holding the ball. Now this thread will never get to 13 pages.
It wouldnt of been a bad idea. Maybe it would of cut down on Masons Turnovers.

Surprised to see Alivia Bierley only got honorable mention. She deserved better.

Anyone who has watched the Lady Royals play knows nothing going on makes sense! The starters should be your 5 best players. How does a player go from starting to not even getting to play?? Theres too much talent on the bench to just let them sit when they could contribute to the team! Its tournament time anything can happen! Go Lady Royals!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Totally agree. Could you imagine if she ran fresh legs in and out, how much better they could of been. That bench is at least a good 5 deep and doesnt take advantage of it. Thursday should be interesting.

Coach Lindsey has taken some heat during this year from some posters. She has this team playing their best ball of the season. If they could shoot better they would be dangerous. Does she now get some credit for making the Region and maybe District champions?[/quote
Sorry, still not convinced. St Pats got into foul trouble very early. If Mason would of won by a bigger margin, then maybe convinced. I feel a team like Bracken who has a deeper bench will put Pipers coaching to the test. St Pats held their own with Lykins in foul trouble immediately, then fouling out. I feel officiating did a good job. St Pats clearly has no bench. Mason still has to take care of the ball and a team like Bracken will cause alot of turnovers. Been a LONG season and ready to move on.

2 minute mark - BC down one. Sarah goes down hurt, BB takes the ball, goes down the court, scores, and BC called for a touch foul.
I'm as at fault as anyone, but I believe we are off topic in this thread.
Yes we are off the topic but I just wanted to prove a point and I am not even a fan of Bracken.

Congrats to Mason Co on the runner up finish!
Mason County Freshman girls is coached by Coach Thompson. He is an excellent and motivational coach. Congrats to them.

Sarah is a fine young lady and I sincerely wish she had not gotten injured. She definitely would have had an awesome softball year this year. However she did play most of the game against Brossart in the All "A" first round
I wasnt at that game but at what mark did she go out? From the score, I think if she didnt get hurt the outcome could of been different. BGH you are over the top about your girls. Lets see how the 10th region pans out this year.

Brossart will have huge size with those talented freshmen coming in along with everyone back. It will be Brossart's to lose for the next four years. Brossart is playing without two guards also. Morgan Verst and Madison Eisenman both sophomores. Eisenman was All-State at the All-A State Tourney. She should be back Wednesday.
NCC will dominate them the next 2 years. Too much talent. Kiernan too much and will only get better with maturity.

The score is definitely misleading. This game was a good one and was closer than the double digit win indicates. Bracken is doing well considering the loss of Sticklen. They also played this game without another starter, Wills who is a hard-nose, scrappy defensive presence. In this game, Bracken's point guard was plagued with foul trouble, but offense for the Lady Bears is coming around. Sticklen's shoes are big ones to fill, but these girls don't quit I like how hard they work Nice effort for the Lady Bears!
Cummins led with 12 points, Conley had 10, Bell-9, C. Jefferson-7, Tarvin-6, B. Woods-4
Good to see Bracken had a good game against Brossart. Cummins has a bright future. Good Luck

I think the future will be bright for NCC. It seems like they are losing alot of seniors, will next year be a rebuilding year?
-
who else is out?
I think Jordan Wills but not real sure. A really nice defensive player.
-
Oliva Huber New Cath.
Great Defense. Runs offense well.
Made 9th Region all tournament team as well as
All A tournament team.
I agree. She hustles and never takes a play off. Very controlled ball player.I would bet her assist/ to turnover ratio is very impressive. I feel she made a huge difference in last year region win against Boone. Hope she can repeat.

Andy Fishman, coach of Lakota West is an excellent coach and can make wonders happen.
-
Heck, I'm not sure the best players are starting. Mason's only has one win against a team with a winning record, George Rogers Clark. They have a shot, but it's a long one.
Amen..there is no consistency in who starts or who plays. I think it is terrible how some of the girls are held to different standards. Some can take at least 20 shots with numerous turn overs and no consequences. Others are pulled out and reprimanded. I guess this is a life lesson for some of these girls and can only make them stronger.

After watching Mason Co beat Bourbon Co soundly last night, they have come a long way since December. Cut down on the turnovers and they could beat St Pat.
Turnovers have been a problem all year. A team like St Pats will use this to their advantage. I agree with having a deep bench but not realizing in the previous post. I guess that comes with being inexperienced. If the outcome of this game goes down to coaching, I think we all know the outcome. Sorry for being so harsh but I have seen enough.
-
These two teams have not met this year. I feel Lady Saints will press, press, and more press. If they can stay out of foul trouble should be a good game. Any thoughts?
-
I would like to say the best shooting all year but once again too many turn overs. Season almost over and still turnovers in the 20's. I guess this is not a concern. District will be ugly if we dont take better care of ball.
-
All five are definitely very good players but Moss and Crittenden are definitely top two IMO.
I have to agree. Watching Crittenden is very impressive. Great intensity.

I feel Coach Stoll will do a good job. He has coached JV and I am sure there have been disappointed parents and players. My experience with NCC is they play to win. No politics involved. They put the 5 best on the floor that will get the job done. I have heard a couple parents complain of favortism but I personally havent encountered it. They complain St Joes and St Therese girls play over all the others. If your good and hustle you will play regardless what school you came from.
