  1. Maybe its because I wasn't rooting for or against either team but I didn't see anything wrong with players' actions. I saw passion. I saw intensity. Jaw jacking and woofing are part of the game IMO as long as its controlled a bit. Neither team has any right to say the "other" team was "the problem."

Even the scrum that broke out wasn't a problem IMO. Its part of the game. That happens with you have jacked up 17 yr old boys competing.

    I enjoyed it.

:clap:Passion and intensity thats what the game is about! I also enjoyed it very much! :thumb:

  2. I will tell you this Dale would not put up with this! Elliott would have already learned from week 1 that attitude is unacceptable. No boy is bigger than the program, Highlands boys buy into that. Heck I am 42 years old and Dale would have me grabbing pads, looking like a fool if he called on me. That is the respect he has for the history of the program and the boys have for those that wore the uniform before them. I am sure we are not angels on the field; but Elliott and his couple of tantrums will only be hurting himself. Ryle is not good enough to have those type of penalties and Dale would not put up with them. If you watch the offsetting personal fouls, I might be wrong but Highlands was whistled for a boy entering the field of play to defend; not for conduct on the field. It is what a saw from the field official on the far sideline.

I am not sure what game you were at the other night;but the Elliot kid did not have a personal foul in the game! The personal fouls were on a Jr. and Sr

player for Ryle and also on a few for Highlands!

  3. Have you seen Vocke play? I am very objective in what I say about players and I don't exagerate. I am NOT saying he is another Barry Sanders. That is ludicrous at this point in time. But I am saying that is part of Vocke's style and he is one of the best I have seen at it in high school in quite a while. He carved up the Highlands freshman team last year with this style in the championship game. I believe he had 4 TD runs in that game and most of them were made with great cuts and explosive speed out of the cut. That being said, he is just a sophomore but he merits watching.

I would say Mr.Demlings prospect list is based on the impact those sophomores made at the varsity level playing as freshman! Not what they did in a freshman game!

Also combine, camp information and size would target athletes such as those listed.

I saw the Pike kid at the U.L. camp! He throws a great ball, athletic and already has DI size at 6'5".

  4. Schools recruit for team needs and maybe UK already has a player like a Fugate in their program!

As for Fugate and the Vols. This is a big time player going to a big time program.Put it this way if you are basketball player and you sign with UK but Western Kentucky dosen't offer you would think so what.Tenn is a much better football program than UK and football is king in Tenn as basketball is in Kentucky!

  5. Tog you refer to the Big East as a baseball mecca! I think you may be confused between college baseball and football which does have conferences that are a part of the BCS.College baseball doesn't!

CS Fullerton,UC Irvine,Coastal Carolina,Witchita State,Elon,Oral Roberts,Rice and East Carolina are all college baseball powerhouses every year. The BCS has nothing to do with baseball or the quality of the baseball programs!WKU was in the 64 team field and Coach Finnwood has a quality program!Louisville was the only team from the Big East to make the 64 team field.

As for Perkins he was a kid that was highly recruited and signed early with WKU and also recieved alot of attention from pro scouts.Probably a 100% kid that will have an impact on their starting rotation as a freshman next year.IMO he is the best pitcher in the state!

  6. HCFan1 is right Dice any of the backs he mentioned would be standing on the sidelines after halftime of those 1a games with their 250 yds already.Buckler is a good back for the class he plays in.The competition level just isn't as high.He does play with alot of heart though and thats why I like him.

  7. Elliot selected all combine team at the Rivals.com Ultimate 100 in Atlanta,Ga.Elliot won the combines strongest man award bench pressing 135lbs 42 times!

He competed against the best in his class from Florida,Georgia and all over the south!

The all combine team goes on to Oklahoma City in July for the Rivals.com Ultimate 100 prospect camp.

    Congrats Travis
