  1. "Look... me and the McDonald's people got this little misunderstanding. See, they're McDonald's... I'm McDowell's. They got the Golden Arches, mine is the Golden Arcs. They got the Big Mac, I got the Big Mick. We both got two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions, but their buns have sesame seeds. My buns have no seeds."

    Favorite movie ever!

  2. I've been through several of the ones from Lowes, etc. and they last a couple/few years and are shot. I've had two Weber grills in my life and you should do yourself a favor, spend the extra money and get the Weber. I have a Weber three burner and it is fantastic. Holds up great and if you need to replace parts, they are available. You can sped $200-$300 every three years if you want, but the Weber's last forever.

  3. I think far too many people are confusing inspiration with courage. I mean, if I knew I was going to die from cancer, I'd do the same things I always do. I wouldn't say that is courageous. That's what most people would do, I think.

I wouldn't give the award to Hill any more than I would to Jenner. Neither inspired me to greater things. But Jenner is a face for a group that is struggling for recognition, whereas Hill was the poster child for an already strong movement. Is her story unbelievably sad? Without a doubt.

Someone will always disagree with who is getting an award. But Jenner being the first transgender athlete creates a much bigger impact on both sides of the discussion than Hill did.

Sorry but you are missing the point on this one. Way off.

  4. Jason Isbell - Dress Blues

Mamas and grand mamas love you, 'cause that's all they know how to do.

You never planned on the bombs in the sand, or sleepin' in your dress blues.

This. Zac Brown sang it in concert Friday night and had a Marine come out in his Dress Blues (walking with a cane). As he turned to leave the stage, cane fell, Marine bends awkwardly to pick it up and the place goes nuts. Unbelievable and not a dry eye in the place.

Also, one the means so much to me, especially since my step-father has passed, is "He Didn't Have to Be", by Brad Paisley. Can't get through the song without becoming a mess.

  5. I didn't know that walk-ons even got recognized on senior day. I understand people saying they have earned the recognition and that they should start, but I don't buy it. Every one of those walk-ons feels like they get rewarded every day by just being in the gym with these guys. Sure, let them have the picture and walk on the floor with their parents. Start them? No way. And before you jump on me, think about this. You start the walk on and he proceeds to turn the ball over the first two times he touches it, gets beat bad on defense and just looks silly out there. How is that for senior day?

Just because they don't have a scholarship and are walk-ons, doesn't mean they aren't part of the TEAM. They should be recognized like any other member of the TEAM. It's their Sr. Day. They put in the work just like everyone else on the TEAM. I think it would be an embarrassment if they don't get the recognition any other member of the TEAM would get.

  6. Looking is fine. It's only when the choice to leave is made should there be any hurt feelings. I wouldn't take it personally, if Beatty chose to go, but I would be a little disappointed. He's built a good thing here. He has a strong, supportive community and I doubt Trinity is stinting on the money, even if the AK job pays more. I felt the same way, though less strongly, when Charlie Strong left U of L.

Still, if he does go, I would wish him the best.

Didn't realize that Alaska had that high level football! :ohbrother:
