Will Class A schools have the opportunity to play up in 2A and not play in their class A regional?

There needs to be consistency with classes across all sports. A 2A football school should be a 2A basketball school.

I'm not disagreeing with what you say, I think the KHSAA should mandate seeding, but in recent years Model and Madison Southern have been pretty competitive with one another, but it seems as though you single out Model when they would deserve a regional opportunity as much as Southern would.

Knowing Coach Scarberry he'll embrace the challenge and have his team ready to compete. Model has 2 of the better players in the district in Otieno and Chen, but it'll take a near perfect game for them to upset the Indians.

Madison Southern and Model will each have one of their better teams in recent memory.

I've been waiting on an answer to the clock situation as well. They actually took it down to 3 seconds before the ball was entered. Anyone see something I missed?

I don't disagree that Southern is the 2nd best team, but who could they beat in the Region that Model couldn't? (Model won tonight).

I think both could beat Woodford or Franklin. Neither could beat the 4 teams from the 42nd or 43rd. Just my opinion.

I think most people would agree that the fairest method would be to seed, but the khsaa has to mandate that or make this a 5 team district through realignment. I've been on both sides of this as an administrator and you have to vote in the best interest of your school.

I would disagree that it's unfair to Central, they have won like 20 districts in a row, so I can't imagine they care. Also, Model did beat Woodford a few weeks ago, so it wouldn't necessarily be an easy win if the draw went that direction.

Model was real athletic last year, had some height and shooters. Unless those graduated am surprised by this big of a defeat

I believe Model had 7 or 8 seniors last year, and there are none on their roster this season. Looks like a rebuilding effort for Coach Scarberry.

That is where you are dead wrong IMO. Games DO come down to one play, one call, etc. All of the other stuff washes out during the course of a game but anyone who believes that things that happen in the last minute of so of a game do not decide that game are from another planet.

I see what you're saying, and its easy to feel that way. I just think if teams put aa much emphasis on each and every possession as they do at the end of games, they'd see much more success. Easier said than done I know, but its a 32 minute game, and they all matter, not just the last minute.

We put too much emphasis on one play or one call. Im sure there were other missed calls during the game, this just happened to be at the end. Every missed lay-up, missed FT, turnover, etc....cost you when you lose by one. One call, good or bad, doesn't decide the game.

I was at the game and it was pretty bad officiating. Model played really good half court man defense and led most of the game. They were up 5 going into the final period, but the refs cost them the game in my opinion. 44-15 for 2 pretty evenly matched teams is a major difference. Almost impossible to overcome, but they almost did it. My hats off to the kids from Model.

Well Southern already played Central to 3 points so I don't think that is really valid. Plus Berea and Model dont really play anybody else from the 11th region other than Southern, Sayre, and each other. So that doesn't really make a lot of sense, but Powell Co. is a good win!

I thought you might be talking about Central having won like 15 districts on a row, that's what I was referring to. You have to look at the size of the schools too in reference to scheduling.

Its just nice to see Model have some success since they haven't had much in the past.

Well thats good they are 3-0, but Model is still Model and can't compete in the weak 44th district.

You could say the same for Madison Southern and Berea.
