When our cheerleaders ran on the floor the visiting students chanted Rattle Rattle here comes the Cattle. I thought this was kind of funny since none of out cheerleaders weigh over 110 lbs. LOL very clever though.

Here's the run down of the 48th district tournament. All games played at McCreary Central High School

#1 McCreary Central (24-4) vs #4 Southwestern (4-21) 2/27/08 7:00 PM

#2 Wayne Co. (19-10) vs #3 Monticello (4-22) 2/28/08 7:00 PM

I disagree. I feel that Carolina or Louisville are the best right now.

I'll agree with you for the most part RP. I'll agree that Louisville is one of the better teams in the NCAA right now. But not Carolina. I'd have to say that Louisville,Tennessee and Memphis are probably the best teams thus far.

I'm going to pick UT by 5 65-60.

I think the 12th is stronger.

I'm going to make a gutsy call here and say that Louisville will finish out the remainder of the season undefeated. I realize that playing at Georgetown is going to be almost impossible to play there and win but i think that Rick will find a way to win.

I'll pick Bruce Pearl on this one.

Southwestern better not look over Monticellio they can sneak up and beat you. I think it will be a hard fought game coming down to a last play.

I don't think that coach Tim Rice and his Lady Warriors will over look Monticello. I'm sure this is going to be a good basketball game and which ever team wins it is going to be a well earned victory.

Lofton hit some huge shots over Durant last year against Texas, and led them to a win....and he's not exactly small, and definitely what you call a great athlete.

 

They shut him down with good defense, which helped open things up for other players. Tennessee, though, needs to work on getting him the ball in transition and setting better screens, that would help against a better defensive team. Regardless, they won virtually without him, and that makes it even more impressive.

If I'm not mistaken I think Lofton dropped 34 pts on Memphis last year. So with that being said I'll agree Lofton is a stud a big player for Bruce Pearl! :thumb:

Congrats to coach Pearl and his Vols on tonights victory. This was a hard fought victory and a well deserved one at that. He has turned this team into a phenomonal program! The vols play Vandy at Vandy on tuesday night this should be a pretty good test for these guys to see if they can hold on to the top spot for awhile.

This years 48th district tournament will be held at McCreary Central high school. The games are as follows:

Game 1 will feature #1 Wayne County (17-9) vs. #4 McCreary Central (1-23) at 7:00 Monday Night.

Game 2 will feature #2 Southwestern (18-10) vs. #3 Monticello (16-12) at 7:00 Tuesday Night.

I think that it is a good possiblity that you will see a rematch of last years 48th district championship. Good luck to all teams!:jump:

Looks like that the Lady Rebels will finish the regular season undefeated against 12th region opponets as the defeated Lincoln Co. last night 44-38. The Lady Rebels will play Pulaski Co. in the first round of the 47th district at Rockcastle Monday night at 6:30. This should be a fairly easy win for the Lady Rebels. So like I said its Casey's to win!!!!!!!!!:jump:

This just in from the Lake Cumberland Basketball Association. The three officials for this game will be Chris Tilley, John Drake, and Donnie Minton. This Should be interesting!

I'm going way out on a limb and picking Southwestern their record is 4-20 but I think if these guys can stay out of foul trouble and put together a solid game than Southwestern will be right there in the thick of things. Coach Shootz really knows how to get in these guys heads for them to play much better. So just because the record is 4-20 don't count out the Warriors!

I agree it is Caseys to lose. But if they fall you have Lincoln, Rockcastle, Southwestern, and Wayne County that can contend. Somerset is a sleeper.

I'll agree it is Casey's to lose. And if they fall then my next pick would be Southwestern. I think they have came a long way since the beginning of the season and adjusted well to the absent Heather Overton. Although they for sure need to work on free throws! I think Coach Rice and company will be ready to play come tourny time!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumb:

Who do you pick to be the 12th region champs? I'm going take a gamble and pick Lincoln Co. I'm going to say that Southwestern is the Cinderella team in the 48th and pulls the first round upset on the home standing raiders.:sssh:

This question is wide open. I predict Casey Co. to win this years 12th region tournament. No one in the 12th has been able to pull the upset thus far although the region will be at Lincoln Co. this year I think Casey will pull the upset.
