  1. It's a joke that Blanton, Pulliam and Aaron Gibson were left off of the entire list!

I concur and also other glaring omissions are Jehn at Scott, Jackson of Campbell & Uebel of Brossart.

My top five would be this:

    PG Mason Monroe

    2G. Brent Bach

    SF Omar Prewitt

    PF Justin Saunders

    C Nick Jackson

  2. I think it is tough when a new coach comes in and isn't able to pick his own staff. I think it was awkward for him and his assisants.

It looked like the assistants were not giving/sharing input with the head coach during the season. Every game I watched this year the assisants were just setting there and not talking. I also thought it was strange

when you have Monroe who I thought was one of the top point guards in the region not playing point guard this year. He was moved to the 2G position most of the time and only bringing the ball up only when they were being pressured. The injuries this year definitely didn't help matters either. The seniors basically had to learn a new system and a new way of doing things than the past. With that all being said I still think Harrison County was and is a better team this year. I really didn't see them lose a game that they should of won with maybe the exception of Oak Hills.

  3. Mason Monroe was a 5 year starter and played in 150 career games at Pendleton County (1st all-time at PCHS). He scored 2,128 points (2nd all-time) and had 457 assists (2nd all-time). He was a part of three 38th District Championships and one 10th Region Runner-up team. He has been invited to try-out for the Kentucky-Indiana All-Stars.

Great High School career Mason! I have enjoyed watching you play.

Throw in two Region 8 championships in golf, 1 Region 12 Soccer championship.

Numerous all 10th Region team member, all state honorable mention last year & a Jr KY-IN allstar invite.

Tough nite last nite. I thought Moore and Antrobus played well last night for PC.

I am also hearing Hanover, Centre and a few others are in the mix for Mason.

  4. He has taken on a huge leadership role, I would put him above Monroe. Earlier in the year Felts shut down Monroe as Scott soared to victory.

LOL Monroe had 27 in that game. I don't think he was shut down. It was Pendleton's 1st game on the road under a new coach & Scott's 3rd game that week. I have yet to see anyone shut Mason Monroe down.

  5. Mason will not catch #1

    1.Talbert Turner 3183 - 15th in State

    2.Mason Monroe 1900 plus & counting

    3. Bobby Lee Wyatt 1800 plus

    4. Rick Elrod 1500 plus

    5. Dave Turner 1448

Still a great accomplishment for Mason who usually is double teamed for the last 3 seasons.

  6. Pendleton pulled close several times in this game, but just couldn't get over the hump. I saw a lot of positives last night though. Good crowd in Falmouth for alumni night.

Omar Prewitt is very good, but we already knew that. He has improved a lot from last year, especially defensively. He is patient when blocking shots, rarely biting on shot fakes, and usually blocking the shot after it's left the shooters hand. He had to have at least 6 blocks last night.

I've been watching Mason Monroe for over 10 years now, and he still does things that make my jaw drop. In the fourth quarter for instance, he had a crossover that broke Prewitt's ankles, then promptly finished with a tough 10 foot floater. No one even cheered. The whole crowd seemed to be in silent awe.

It will take someone's best shot to keep Montgomery County from going to Rupp Arena this year.

Was that the one where Darius Jones came flying at him & He switched the ball from his left hand to his right hand and nailed the floater?

That move made me say wow!
