  1. Fairview will miss the coaching staff. If you ask any of the players you can see it in their expressions and faces how much coach Nate McPeek meant to them. I wish him well in GA and it will be good for him to get away from the narrow minded people in this area. To be honest Fairview was nothing before and they won't be anymore. Fred Ray good position coach but not a head coach but we shall see in due time. Wish the kids the best of luck this season but I have a feeling Fairview will fall back to being mediocre again like so many of the Westwood people want. Talon you have no idea what class means to be posting about the last regime when you don't know them, if you do post your name.

  2. If this is true, I'm sure the KHSAA would like to see the Twitter accounts. Maybe they can get a tour of the facilities, too.

Heard Tim Tebow was going to Fairview till New York jets signed him last year you guys kill me who cares worry about the kids and teaching the game it's a great game!

  3. WestwoodEagle, I am a fan that has been around for quite a while and I think that you know what I said is dead on.

There is plenty more that I could say but haven't yet because I am pretty sure but just not positive on it. Also, I don't know you so I am not saying that you are but I just am not one of the "good ol' boy" club members that are in that school system. I will say that I certainly don't need or want yours and others advice on what I should or should not say or who I need to say it to. There are others that just as concerned as I am about all of this and are not fans of the "win at all cost" way of thinking that has taken over.

As for me, you and some others no doubt will be glad to know that I may not be posting much more due to the "proper authorities" will be notified, they are just not in the Fairview system.

Have a nice day, I know that I will.

Geez be quiet please you gotta be little kid or something quit whining or go to the house! You seem to be a very unhappy person they make medications for that!

  4. No response ?....May be they have heard about some of the residents in the Fairview district being pretty upset about voting in a school tax and keep seeing "transfers" come in and take spots/positions away from kids that have lived in the district and attended Fairview schools their entire life. Support for Fairview schools/athletics has always been there but I know at least one tax payer in the district that would have voted "No" on that levy. I know of some that are upset over this and thinking that Ashland Blazer and Russell schools are a short drive away.

Go talk to the administration or coach don't post online that's the unprofessional way

  5. Don't see them going undefeated for 3rd year in arow but should be a major player in who gets to bowling green! They have a much different style on offense and defense than most teams. In my opinion they are the most physical team in the area unless you consider johnson central in the area. They have major talent all across the board but so do other teams in their region. Good luck to all the teams but Fairview has great coaches and program.

  6. Tony love said it but its so untrue because Ashland best player quinton baker isn't from Ashland and several other transfers! Coach love needs to worry about being a head coach I'm guessing he's talking about Fairview and Raceland

  7. I think the East side will be either Fairview or Raceland. Fairview did lose some great players (5-6) starters total, but a few new additions and the bulk of the team is back. The team is going to be bigger, stronger and faster. Don't be surprised if the Eagles are better than last year. Just my 2 cents.

I agree they won't just go away and say ok we aren't as good as last season. I bet they are sitting in the weeds thinking nobody believes. Everyone talking about other teams if I'm not mistaken they were state finalist last season.

  8. Especially when it comes to bringing in out of state talent. No one does it better than Mcpeek. We had a terrific season with the influx of talent. Now the onus is on him to repeat it. I can't wait to see who trots out there this fall.

Of course the addition of James Hopkins, who roamed the sidelines as an assistant last season for Huntington High, should provide that essential link. His connection to Ironton will also come in handy. Bright horizons for our Eagles.

Fairview wasn't much over last 30 years think they can keep him there? Can't see them offering much money

  9. Since someone else opened Pandora's box, I'll ask: are you sure? Because I heard the same thing from a reliable source. And the reliable source said that Coach Sammons told people about it. And, this reliable source is at a fourth party school that has not dog in this fight.

Nate is great coach and class act

  10. Yes sir I agree old rambler I wasn't trying to be upsetting and yes I respect all programs just gets old listening to it sorry it's beating a dead horse I'm just an overall football fan that likes to see local teams do well. As far as you not agreeing I wouldn't think any true Ram fan would like that Fairview is no longer a doormat and can play.

  11. Great post Ram, the school that you spoke of with all the Ohio players has also been well documented for having several West Va. players as well transfer/brought in for some seasons through the last 10-12 years or so. That same school won very little to nothing at all in their football history before around 1990-92/93 and the out of state transfers. Maybe some are getting confused, just sayin'.....:idunno: :D

Always reason why the Rams get beat, gets old listening to it. Raceland gets more transfers than most schools yet nobody says anything, Ashland gets a bunch yet nobody says anything. Russell got kid from Mayfield nothing said. Fairview gets some and lord they are awful and recruit. Why wouldn't you want to play for them? Whole backfield to college this past season, head coach is young and good at what he does, facilities increase, and program on the rise that helps kids get into school. I respect the Raceland program and respect the fans to a point but it gets old reading same ole stuff, just get better and win. I understand being mad about arch rival winning region, state semifinal, and going to state title game first before Raceland but it's a local school at that be happy for Eastern Kentucky.

  12. With Hazard's district, they should have a chance every single year to advance to finals.....very weak district and class A has been weak for the last few years...

I agree the top 6 or 7 single a teams have hard time finding people to play because so many schools are scared to play them

  13. I'm new to bluegrass preps but your a Raceland guy so why worry about Fairview so much? Seems to me like you have a good program so why care about Fairview? I'm from lexington originally but have seen Fairview and Raceland play last few seasons its amazing what Fairview has done last few years with facilities, and winning. I believe both programs are single a and both have high percentage of out of district students both inside and ourside communities, so why gripe? Sorry I'm not too smart but seems like if you focus more on the kids getting better at Raceland and not so much focus on Fairview you would better off for it. Good luck to both teams but I have feeling Fairview won't give up district title lightly like so many are suggesting. I don't think teams disappear after state title game run.
