McGinness 137 yards 3 tds.
6'4 201 pound Jacobs 11/14 154 yards 3 tds.
Mayer 6 catches 78 yards 2 tds.
Does that mean he set the school records for rushing and overall TD’s?

Thanks for all the recommendations. I have seen a lot of these but there are for sure some I have not.

In the Mollie Tibbits thread people mentioned being true crime fans. I am as well. Any particular recommendations from fans?

I was asking you seriously if they "settled" for this guy because they didn't get who they wanted. And no I don't know anything about why Andre didn't get the job.
Not sure I would call it settling but it wasn't the first person offered. There have been a lot of great hires in all sports throughout history where the first person offered turned it down and the next in line took it and ran. I'm hoping that happens here.
-
Way to not answer either question.....
I made it clear that they offered someone else before him. I'm not jumping into the Andre topic. You brought it up. If you know what happened you jump in
-
So your saying that they "settled" for this guy? So what happened to McClendon?
He's not 25 ish years old.
-
Not all, including I, would agree with you.
That’s fine. They’d all be wrong. 3 straight regional appearances and 2 sons scoring over 1K points is a Hill I’ll happiky die on.
The job may not be as good as some people think either. CCH is probably the best program in the state with that coach. Holmes will probably figure it out again soon. Beechwood is on the rise. Might be why a 25ish year old HC graduate turned them down and they had to settle.
-
Any one know if he has any ties with HC, or any kids coming up thru school?
It worked out pretty well for HC that their last hire had kids getting ready to come through the school.
-
Sure, why not? It would prove safer for the workers involved and would generate more tax income. The problem is that the workers in that profession prefer to work under the table, so to speak. Legalized prostitution in Nevada generates $75 million per year while it's estimated that illegal prostitution in Las Vegas alone is a $5 billion a year industry. Much harder to regulate than gambling, cigaretes, alcohol and marijuana.
There will always be illegal gambling and prostitution in the state of KY. It would be nice if there were legal options for those that wanted to do it correctly.
-
I'm all for sin. I'm good with bringing in casinos and sports books as well as higher taxes for cigarettes and alcohol. Also for legalizing marijuana and taxing it.
Why stop there? Legalize prostitution and tax it as well. The state's budget issue would be solved fairly quickly until the politicians figured out a way to mess the additional revenue. Hopefully it would take them a couple decades to mess it up though.

Girls coach hired. No word on boys coach. My understanding is AD handled the girls search and the principal is handling the boys search.
-
I believe this is filled. I will let HC make the announcement before I do. The person wasn't previously mentioned in here.
-
The best thing about this hire is how mad ND supposedly was at Kes during the time of the "HC about to get Death Penalty thread". That was only 2 years ago. Haha. Some people were really really far off in that thread. My first post in there asked if we could get it moved to the classic forum if nothing happened.

Don't even know if Todd would want the job.
I hope that if he does want it that this narrative doesn’t get around.
-
I wonder why the move by Thomas More ?
I'm almost certain they couldn't find a conference home in D3.
-
I sure hope Todd Houston is a candidate. He would be a great fit.
-
Kes did a fantastic job at HC. Good luck to him moving forward.
-
Absolutely I am serious! No clue what the bold statement means? But why does this make him the best fit for NDA and one that they should shun all others for? Great accomplishment with the State Championship but that alone does not make you the best fit for a program.
You don’t know what it means that ND plays in HC’s district and it would hurt HC to lose a coach that has won at a clip Kes has won at?
-
Why?
Are you serious?
How many state champion coaches would you guess applied?
How many already are employed by the diocese?
How many would drastically decrease a region and district power that they compete against?
Should I continue...
-
Have any credible coaches applied for the job? I would be shocked if Kes actually applied. I would think ND would have hired him the minute his application hit their desk.
-
I’m watching UConn right now. I’d safely say CCH by 50 and that’s probably low.

Holy Cross needs a coach who knows the school and its place within the community.
Fredrick's name has been mentioned and I think it popped up the last time it was open. From what I hear is that I don't think it is a match.
Jeff Trame is a name that has been mentioned.
Andre McClendon is a real possibility.
Kes Murphy is another name that has been bantered about.
Dave Bezold would be a excellent hire, but not sure if he leaves his role at Xavier. If Neal gets another year, I don't see him leaving Victory Parkway.
I don’t think Jeff or Dave are interested. I think Andre would do really well and keep Muck which would be helpful as well.

First of all I like Ryan and his style of coaching. Coached against him for years and always thought he did a great job with the kids. His kids were going to attend covcath and when it was realized that playing time might be an issue he became coach at holy cross. This provided his kids an opportunity to play the game of high school basketball which I am fine with until you resign when they are done playing. This is becoming more and more of an issue in high school athletics.
Both of his sons scored over 1K points at HC. Both of his sons will be collegiate athletes next year. He has taken a ton of criticism for virtually no reason. I am happy with what he did in his time at HC and I totally understand why he stepped down. If the next coach is as successful as Ryan it will be a fantastic hire. If he is far more successful it will be a legit HR hire.

Oh man, the "we get no respect" gang can't be thrilled. I disagree with Pops, I think this is an upset. Holy Cross is solid, no doubt, but Newport should have had enough to get this game.
Congrats to Coach Schrand and the boys -- happy for you Ryan.
I’ll keep repeating this while they are playing so well. Ryan took and takes a lot of criticism. Came up with a great game plan and for whatever reason Newport didn’t try to adjust. They were happy playing 4 on 4. What HC has done with Schrand is pretty impressive. The kids, especially the seniors, have stepped up big time.
