  1. That's a pretty bold statement considering Highlands already beat them by 18.

I didn't mean to be so direct but I think Newport is just going be pretty hungry to get to the regional tournament and they have a team that seems to be very talented and capable of beating alot of teams and I think Highlands is a team they can beat.

  2. Shawn Meyer is bigger and longer than Connor so he plays defense, Connor is a better shooter so he plays offense.

Meyer is taller and longer but Connor shut that guy down and the switch got Newport close? I believe it was 47 -40 NCC when the 1st switch was made and the Newport player actually drove down and made plays happen and when Connor was on defense the Newport player didn't even get the ball past the top of the key! Meyer is a solid player but that substitution almost got NCC in big trouble. I'm sure the NCC brass has their reasons and they came out on top but it's a great question cchwildcat?

  3. Great game! Congrats to Matt Geisler tourney MVP Jake Geisler and Jake Olberding all tourney.

Very physical game by both teams Pangallo handled the pressure well Connor's defense was spectaculer and hit 4 huge free throws in the final minute!

    Darnell is a tough player!!!!

Good luck in the state touney Breds you earned it!!!

  4. I like NCC but the athletism of Newport will be hard for the Breds to handle. The 3 big guys for NCC had a big night against the much smaller St. H team let's see how they stack up with a team that ranks bigger in size.

If Darnell stays behind Giesler it'll be tough for him to get to the rim. Look for Newport to jump Pangallo.

NCC will need a big night from the 3 ball. Home court advantage is obviously not going to help NCC.

This will be a great game to watch!!!!

  5. I think you are wrong. CovCath will be good there's no question about it. NCC, Dixie, Ryle, Holy Cross will all be tough. Highlands, Conner & Beechwood will improve through the year and be ready come tournament time. It will not be a walk in the park for CovCath.

I agree with you bredman covcath will have their work cut out for them for sure. After Maile they become very average they just win the popularity contests!:D

  6. Riley is hands down the best PG in nky and IMO one of the top 3 in the state.

Shooting 50% from both the field and 3 point land:

    FG- 48-95 (51%)

    3PT FG- 25-48 (52%)

If there's another PG in the state that is shooting the ball that well, please let me know because IMO Riley is the best shooter in the state and the scouts that I've talked to tend to agree with me. The stats don't lie.

Averaging 11 PPG, 3 APG, and 3 RPG on a team filled with "stars'.

    76% Free throw shooter

Great ball handler who doesn't commit many turnovers.

And most importantly, the floor general for the #1 team in the state.

Based on the criteria I agree with you 100% I think Gabbard is very solid but after that again based on the criteria(all catagories) it drops off pretty quick IMO. It woud be interesting to see true stats on turnovers vs assists on several of the point guards. Other than that everything is an opinion I guess?

  7. Oops, I miss communicated. Connor has the bragging rights because he was the winning pitcher in the regional championship. Isler shut NCC down in a run rule game. Believe his velocity and location made this possible. Also he integrated his changeup in, with good location, to keep NCC batters off balance. I do agree all are good players and that hitting spots is the key, but it is sure nice to be able to bring the heat. Going to be a great baseball season.

That's what makes baseball so great my friend, a pitcher can change the team Connor won the big one. The run rule game you speak of was I believe the game that Luke hit 2 bombs with wood wasn't it? Yes can't wait until spring!
