  1. Districts are the same. Finals on Thursday. Region on Saturday. It would be the same as having the SEC tournament. It still means something but if you lose, you still get to play in the NCAA tournmanent.

I'm not sure how they plan to see as of right now, but I would have a "selection show" on early Friday morning after districts where they put together Rankings from LIT, Cantrell, and BGP.

Think I would use the LIT, Cantrell, and coaches poll to determine seeding.

  2. @dell I though it was necessary to give each team a one day break between games.

And I like the idea of sectionals of what you had. Only problem is I think have of Mason County play @ somewhere the same night they host games would be a problem. Administration would want to watch Mason County play instead of hosting other teams.

I agree. I was thinking same thing when I typed it. With some tweaking I think this would work.

  3. According to riherds, Burden for Robertson Co. had 43 points and 13 rebounds vs Model. Pretty good game for the Junior from Mt. Olivet.

I was fortunate enough to watch Ryan Cooper from Clark County put on a shooting clinic in the Polar Bear Palace on Saturday. That was impressive.

MeanGene it was good visiting with you Saturday at the BC/GRC game. I agree Cooper can flat shot the ball. Hopefully I'll see you during the tournaments.

Just thought playing semi and championship would get them partially ready for possibly playing four straight days in the Sweet 16.

  5. I also thought about the idea of playing the all 8 first round games on the same night, it might sound crazy but here's why: It creates a sense of controlled chaos. You may be at one game but you're constantly trying to check scores of the other games. Like the MLB recently changed the Wildcard format so both games are played on the same night, at the same time. I though that this would draw some interest because of everything going on.

I also thought about making it so that every district played their boys championship game on Thursday, and have the first round of 8 played on the Saturday with games going on throughout the day at different times so people could go to multiple games. Then have round two on Monday and Tuesday, round three on Thursday, and the championship on Saturday.

Fill me in on the district. Would they still have the district tournaments? If so how would this change seeding? With the super region I thought districts would not be needed.

  7. I like the top 8 getting home games. However, I'm just throwing ideas out there. For the casual fan who likes to take in as many games as possible. What if you did four pods for the first round. Play all four upper bracket games on the same night. But play two games at a neutral site and play the other two at another neutral site. Then play the lower bracket at two sites the next night. For casual fans they would get to see two games. They would just have to choose which two they would want to see. Overall, I like the idea of a Super Region.

  8. I could tell you were a democrat. You know, being a fan of giving people stuff they don't work for. *Like letting Augusta's baseball team play in the regional tournament*

Who said I was a democrat? Don't like Trump or Clinton. Enough about politics. I haven't mentioned if I'm for seeding or not. I'm just asking why BC is in favor of seeding now when they were not in favor before this current alignment?

  9. Yes, because Bracken has beat Brossart and Campbell already. And I'm sure they will beat Silver Grove and Pendleton. That's a #1 seed. Last year they would have been a #2 seed. So there's a hole in that theory.

For this year maybe. But on a yearly bases Bracken and Silver Grove would be the bottom feeders. Sure seeding wouldn't be mentioned by the BC faithful.

  10. The benches have not been in the enzone said since the 70's or early 80's.

I played my final high school game in the Fieldhouse. It was the 1993 regional tournament. The benches were in the end zone then. Our bench was on the end where you come it. If you were facing the basket the bench would have been to the left.

  11. I've missed only two region games in 40 years. The 97 finals and last years finals. Hands down the Fieldhouse is the best for atmosphere and experience. The only downfall is their parking. But, it could be worse. MOCO has a beautiful facility. To me there are a few seats that have bad sight lines there. NKU is a first class facility. Just felt like the games were dead because place was half full and fans were away from the floor. Plus, I like it played in a high school gym.

I'll drive the 1:15 minutes each day and enjoy quality 10th region basketball. I will enjoy every minute. Just wish it was at the Firldhouse IMO.
