Corbin will win and it willl be a convincing win, but it may be closer than you think. I heard Corbin will be without Manns (playing football this week). Any truth to that rumor?
-
I would think that more people will be there this year too, with the weather being moderate (forecast partly cloudy and in the low 50's) It is a great place and beign crowded makes it even better. I think that they may bring in some extra stands that will be placed on the track around the field.

I don't know many myths about passing but I do know this fact.
Only three things can happen when you throw the ball and two of them are bad!
Run the Ball and you don't have to worry about the passing rules.....just joking.
-
Also tongue in cheek, I know Raider Rob could never write a book.
To the game, Whitley just got up and played superior defense and was hitting shots all night long. Williamsburg could not stop the point guard and they just played harder all night long, in fact I cannot remember Williamsburg winning a loose ball.
-
Why would they run the score up like that?
...
Took a page out of the book "Rob Jones; How to Win Friends and Influene Enimies" LOL:deadhorse:
-
Whitley County dominated from the opening tip and shut Williamsburg down offensively, holding the Jackets to 14 points in the first half and 23 in the second half.
Congrats to the Colonels on a nice road win against you cross town rival.:dancingpa

Pulaski Co. has bermuda grass. The problem was that the people mowing the field let it grow to high with rain in June and cut it too short too soon and thatch built up and allowed crabgrass to set in, which in turn choked out the Bermuda in the middle of the field. Then, you add 2 1/2 inches of rain the week of the SW game and you end up with the grass worn out in the middle. This can all be rectified for both Pulaski and SW if the Board of Ed. goes ahead and installs the field turf for both schools. The money is already there for this project, just the Supt. needs to give the green light.
Would love to see them get turf, especially by Friday night!!!!!

Yes, it is dry and will be dry on Friday night. Hey who cares anyway, its the playoffs, play it in the parking lot if you have to.

It is a heck of a long way from Lynn Camp to Raceland, long trips do not help when you are the lower rated seed. Lynn Camp may not win this game but I can tell you this from watching them for over 30 years (almost as long a Mitchell has been coaching) is that Lynn Camp will come to play and they will play hard.
Sorry Ram fans gotta pull for the Campers but I believe that Raceland will win.
Good Luck to both teams.

Glad to see the Colonels coming together as a team.
Against Rock they got the ball and marched down the field and scored, although Rock did force them to punt a couple of times, it looked like the "Black Friday Defense" returned and never let the Rockets in the game.
I was impressed with #20 he ran the ball hard and took alot of contact, had the QB hit some of his early passes the game may have been a little different but I think the outcome would have been the same.
Congrats Colonels, don't be satisfied, lets keep it rolling......

Whitley will run up and down the field on and outmanned Rock defense. Whitleys backfield against a poor tackling Rock team is a recipe for disaster. Whitley wins 42-14 with subs in 4th quarter.
Looks to me like somebody is fire up the Rock. The Rockets are a seriously good football team and will be ready to play, they gave the Colonels all they wanted last year.
-
Even a blind hog finds an acorn now and then, at some point the Colonels could get over the hump, the question is will it be at the right time? Which would be the district tournament.
Maybe a better analogy would have been the sun don't shine on the same dog's tailend everyday......

"WE" by the college fans is fine too, in my opinion. If it were not for we in the college programs then they would have some empty stadiums when "WE" did not show up. (and pay for over priced tickets)
-
Although the truth is based on knowledge, it sometimes bears out that it is not always right.
-
I know Lowrie and Barton are gone for the year, but will they get any of the other hurt kids back? I was surprised that the Jackets lost this game, I thought that Moses along with his recievers would be enough. Impressive win for Harlan, Looks like the teams that run the ball with some authority could give the Jackets problems this year.
-
Don't worry about taking over, Whitley will have in the neighborhood of 75-80 fans total, including parents.......LOL. I think that there will be a bunch from both schools supporting their teams, and you will see a lot of fans that just love HS football at this game. I expect a great atmosphere for this game, and look forward to it.

D.C., I know Coach Black wont end the series, he respects Coach Mitchell to much and is a very traditional person (Bell and Rock). I dont know how the Colonels could upgrade much on their schedule, Lex. Cath. and Belfry, were huge additions. Whitley was the dominant team this year, but as you point out has not and will not always be the case.
-
Well said gchs_uk9. I believe WCFan is just playing the underdog roll. After the year Whitley had last year they will not be sneaking up on anyone. All I know is I will be in the stands cheering on my Colonels.
You are right, about sneaking up on teams, last year coming off a 2-9 season they could this year they can't. I was being just a bit sarcastic about not showing up.
Regardless of the outcome it is going to be a heck of a game. I think it is one that fans and pundits from around the state will be watching.
-
If we're going to talk about last year, then the only two teams on their schedule comparable to Lexington Catholic was Bell County and Highlands. Whitley lost to Bell 38-8, and to Highlands 42-16.
I know that was last year. And I know Whitley County should have a nice team. But Lexington Catholic is very strong. Whitley County can't prepare for the type of speed they'll face; that's not a knock, that's the truth. Could Whitley pull an upset? I guess. But I think this one should play out very similar to those Bell and Highlands games from last year.
Last year, at this point is all anyone has to go on. I disagree that LC is comparable to BC and Highlands...the won state titiles, LC did not. The only losses WC had were to two state champions, and had you watched the games they were much closer than the score indicated. Turnovers were the bugaboo in both those games, and if Whitley can limit turnover Friday then they will have a chance.
Of course Whitley might decide not to show up since they obviously have no chance at all.:isurrender:
-
How will the knights handle the spread offense, Whitley looked good in there inner squad scrimmage. slinging it all over the feild. I was shocked, I thought whitley ran the ball.???????
ps... I hope to see that old guy down on campus this week with his binoculars. He looked kinda lost...
-
At what point do PARENTS grow up? Jezzz????
-
Numbers are in GREAT range for the Camp and summer practice. I counted at least 35 kids a couple of times this week.
Dave Mitchell is a wizard at getting the kids out and them buying into what he see for the team.
Question: Dave has been there since the 70's, how long do you see him staying and coaching the Wildcats. You identify LC football with Dave Mitchell and Dave with LC.
-
I think that the kids are doing well, conditioning is going on getting ready to go to camp next week. They have a huge task in front of them with the schedule, but Jim Black is not going to take the easy road knowing the tough games prepare his team for the the playoffs.

If Evans had lost this game he may not have finished the season before the wolves got him.
