  1. Bath County happened to have a few good players when he got the job. If he sticks around, and I do not think he will, we will see what kind of coach he is next year. With the exception of Maze there isn't much talent returnuing.

You may be suprised at who comes out in Bath Co. red next year, and that will depend on if Hicks stays. By the way was this thread started about him leaving or just to kick him around?

  2. Well if 360 wins in 20 seasons, and being in the Region semi's and Region Finals nearly every year is boring then what are people in GC wanting. There was only one guy I know who was perfect in this world and he sure as heck didn't coach basketball. I think Ward deserves a medal for valor for all the barrage of hatred he faced in 20 season at GC, sure looks to me like no one else has been able to take the punishment with the multiple coaching changes??? The bottom line is there will never be consistency in Lloyd again until the administrators either wake up or go away and a new crop of people come along to hire someone with stability and thick skin.

Read tomorrow's Daily Independent!! Everything may change at GCHS! Also Randy Ward may be on the Russell sidelines!!!!

  3. Bath Co.

    Maze 27pts 10rb 5ast

    Metz 27pts 9rb

    Mabry 6pts 6rb

    Trusty 7pts 3rb

    Clemons 2pts 2rb 9ast

    FT 21/31 TR40 PF25 TO15

    Rowan Co.

    Adams 15pts 2rb 4ast

    Pettit 17pts 2rb

    Brockman 10pts 1rb 5ast

    FT22/34 TR21 PF23 TO15

Clemons set the last 10 mins. of the first half with 2 fouls. Thats when Maze put on a show, scoring 20 of his 27 in the first half. As you can see Bath hurt them on the boards, on both ends. This says something when Clemons scores 2 points and they still beat a good Rowan County team 75 to 58. Good luck Bath County, still alot of basketball to play.:ylsuper:

  4. You should read a bit further.....it explains how the KHSAA will handle anonymous letters......It states "Anonymous letters sent to the KHSAA shall be forwarded to the school administator of the school in question by the KHSAA Commissioner, with no further action to be taken unless a violation is reported."

Maybe the school acknowledged that Hicks made the comments on the radio.....

The AD, principal, superintendent, and the parents asked Coach Hicks to fight this because he had done nothing wrong. The principal listened to the radio show and his was going to be one of many letters sent to the KHSAA saying no names were said on the radio.Hicks wanted it settled and done so it didn't affect his KIDS.

  5. How have I stayed on the air all these years?????

The KHSAA is cracking down on radio interviews that bash officials. What some coaches don't realize is that officials often turn on the radio on their way home to hear coaches comments. I don't know what Coach Hicks said, but it had to be pretty bad for the KHSAA to step in.

That two calls were blown in over time and that he wished his college roomie had called the game. No names were said. There is no copy of the radio show, although one official said he had a copy, Baths radio station doesn't tape it. It goes back to what was said at the meeting by the KHSAA, none of this would have happened if someone had been doing their job well before the game ever started. GoRaido you should never get in trouble if you are telling the truth. Any one that has tuned in knows that they will always get the truth on GORAIDO. Keep up the good work.

  6. According to the ADI:

    Anyone know what he said?

This all goes back to the Rose Hill game at Bath and comments made about the officials. After the meeting at the KHSAA with the Bath County principal, there will be three other letters sent out by the KHSAA to the others involved. Hicks decided to set last night on his own so there would be no questions latter in postseason play.

  7. Bath Co. Metz 31PT-10RB Clemons 23PT. Sorry this is all that I got. Great game. East tried everything with Clemons, at the end of the game they ran three at him. Metz was a monster on the boards and I think he frustrated Sagraves. There's not many around that can match up with Ryan strength wise but Metz can. Johnson played well but East didn't shoot the ball very good tonight. Bath played good D tonight and I think that had something to do with it. Bath played without coach Hicks tonight so I think that had alot to do with them playing well, wanting to win for him.

  8. Bath County played 11 players in the first half and was up 29-12. Two nights in a row that the bench got alot of mins. Bath played very good D tonight.

    Bath:

    Trusty 6pt- 3rb

    Lyons 3pt- 2rb

    Givens 2pt

    Farrell 2pt

    Hogge 2pt

    Menifee:

    Parks 1pt

  9. Yeah it was an ugly game but it looked a lot better from Bath co.'s sideline...The 2 big differences in this game was rebounds and fouls...Bath co. shot about 39 free throws while fleming only shot about 13

I don't think any of the fouls that were called weren't needed. When the reffs stop the game three or four times to warn players something is wrong. Fleming wanted to play physical, and it got bad at times. The reffs started cleaning it up and the fouls started adding up.
