  1. If all teams were seeded in the playoffs, likely the #1 and #2 seeds in each regional bracket could earn a bye. I do love the idea of 9 regular season games, though. Start the season later (Labor Day) and still finish by Thanksgiving or the week after. And for what it's worth, I totally agree that 6 classes in KY is a joke. This state really doesn't even have the numbers to justify four classes, but four is/was a heckuva lot more competitive than the current structure.
  2. That's an impressive-looking freshman. In addition to his size, some really soft hands. Best of luck!
  3. I hope you're right; I've always liked the "old school" tradition of playing the first game on Labor Day weekend. That would allow "acclimation periods" in early August rather than mid-July. Shorten the playoffs and finish the day after Thanksgiving, as far as I'm concerned. As a lifelong player/coach/parent, though, I'm very glad to see this subject being examined/discussed rationally. In addition to winter weights, spring ball, summer conditioning and the regular season, lots of kids now feel compelled take on any number of camps, combines, 7-on-7 events, etc., and I see plenty of instances in which it's becoming counterproductive. Heck, on July 11th, I actually witnessed a middle school team practicing in pads, but I'll surrender the soapbox. Clearly, something needs to be done at that level, too.
