Cards end regular season on soggy note

http://www.centralkynews.com/winchestersun/sports/ws-cards-end-regular-season-on-soggy-note-20111029,0,7200614.story

On one the coldest nights of the season, both teams battled through soggy field conditions and a steady rain that lasted throughout most of the game. Clark fell behind 14-0 in the first half and struggled to gain traction on the muddy playing surface. The Cardinals had seven fumbles, lost one and had a hard time gripping the pigskin.

“It was awful,” said Harris, who rushed for 67 yards, including a gain of 12 yards in the second half. “It changed the whole game plan for us offensively. Defensively, we kept stopping them, but we just couldn’t get the ball moving on offense. It was hard to make a catch and it (the weather) just took the game away from us on offense.”

Rowan County standout Adam Wing rushed for 120 yards in the first half and had 91 of those on the Vikings’ second series. A 58-yard run by Wing on the drive set up a 1-yard touchdown by Stephen Williamson, giving the hosts a 14-0 advantage with 9:48 remaining in the opening half. Williamson rushed for both of Rowan’s touchdowns in the opening half.

Wow this one really shocks me.

Me too. I would say this is the worst game we have had all year. When you thought things were going bad...they got worse. Offense just could not get much going. 3 times in the red zone and came up scoreless. Weather played its part and neither team could do much in the air. Pokey with only 67 yards....Wow. He just could not cut and get open like he usually does.

Well on the the playoffs against ranked #9 Ryle.
