Holy Cross (Covington) ahead of both NCC and St. Henry? NDA 7th behind Henry Clay, DuPont, and the other Holy Cross. I knew the referees were blind, but apparently the coaches are also!

And one more thing - how does NDA finish 1st in the Region 9 poll, St. Henry 2nd, Holy Cross 4TH, but HC is ahead of both of them in the state poll? Same poll from the same people. Someone please explain that to me.

Most coaches don't take the time to check out who they are voting for. They sometimes vote for teams that they saw play one time at a tournament and thought they were good. Others have no clue of what is outside their own regions. This list is a jumbled mess!

And one more thing - how does NDA finish 1st in the Region 9 poll, St. Henry 2nd, Holy Cross 4TH, but HC is ahead of both of them in the state poll? Same poll from the same people. Someone please explain that to me.

The only thing I can figure is that the coaches are basing their votes on team records and Holy Cross is 26-4 and the fact that Holy Cross won the All A state tournament, maybe more coaches got to see them play. I agree they should definitely not be in front of St. Henry or NCC. St. Henry and NCC should be in front of Ryle too and ND should be higher. Poll is definitely messed up.
