Theoldguy Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 The Cincinnati LaSalle JV team completed the sweep against CovCath at LaSalle, on Labor Day by the score of 24-3. While the score looks lopsided, it honestly wasn't, as the Colonels offense did move the more but only within the 20's. It seemed each time the Colonels got inside the red zone, they just couldn't get it over the goal-line. Good game on the "O" side of the ball by Dressman, Summe, Bir, Hatter and Schmahl. On the "D" side of the ball, CovCath would get LaSalle on a third and six or worse but LaSalle always seemed to be able to complete that third down play for the first down. Good game on the "D" side of the ball by Meek, Nelms, Howard and Fisher. Scoring summary 7-0 LaSalle 1st quarter 5:42 Myers 3 yard TD run Whitaker PAT good 7-3 CovCath 2nd quarter 6:59 Dressman 17 yard Field Goal 14-3 LaSalle 3rd quarter 5:42 Meyers to Collins 14 yards TD pass Whitaker PAT good 17-3 LaSalle 4th quarter 6:45 Whitaker 17 yard Field Goal 24-3 LaSalle 4th quarter 1:54 Meyer to Jenkins 14 yard TD pass Whitaker PAT good The CovCath JV record is now 1-2 and their next game is Saturday 9-10-11 @ CovCath starting @ 10am vs. Boone County.
blue and white mom Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Hey TOG --did not see you but glad you could make it! Did you wear a parka? Quite a temp change fron Saturdays game.:-) Although we made it to the Red Zone, could not figure out why we couldn't punch it in. O line did much better this week and glad to see Bir running the ball more. Our defensive players took a beating on the injury side.Wendt left early and Fischer and Harden still in a lot of pain as the team headed out. As in the varsity game, seemed like the D backs had a hard time containing the much bigger Lancer players. Time to learn from our mistakes and turn the page on this Buckeye team. Looking forward to both Boone games this weekend-should be 2 good games to watch. We played BCPWFL so know quite a few of the Rebel players. Have a good week and maybe we will see you there. PS It was a safety :-D

PS It was a safety :-D Was in the Press Box doing stats and rode to and from the game with the JV team on the Blue Bus. I had on my "Blue BGP's" light pullover on but it was so......much nicer today than Saturday, however I couldn't believe some of the CovCath parents with blankets over them across the field in the stands. Gee Parents, what are you going to do in December in Bowling Green, Ky to keep you warm in that game? While you, I and from the replay of that play that I saw in slow motion no less, it was, it didn't matter as the man in stripes said no.... BTW I told your young son it was a safety IMO, as he left CovCath today!
