Local star star narrows college list

One of the top high school senior girls’ basketball players in the Louisville-area has narrowed her list of schools to five.

 

South Oldham High School guards Jasmine Whitfield will make visits to all five of her finalists - Western Kentucky, Mississippi State, Cincinnati, Eastern Kentucky and Mississippi - before making a final decision on what school she will attend.

 

The 5-foot-11 Whitfield averaged 20.9 points a game last season and also led the Lady Dragons in steals (4.3) and assists (2.4). She hit 56.2 percent from the field, including 34.3 percent from three-point range.

 

Whitfield also averaged 7.3 rebounds a game.

Great list of schools- hope she visits all 5 before she makes her final decision as it is so easy to get caught up in the hype of the visit. So very happy for her and her family.
