Highlands, a four-time defending champion in 5A, is dropping to 4A this season.

Highlands isn't the only big-name football school to change classes. Owensboro and Johnson Central moved from 5A to 4A; Bell County from 4A to 3A; Corbin and Fort Campbell from 2A to 3A; Somerset from 3A to 2A; Lexington Christian from A to 2A, and Russellville from 3A to A.
