Ryle LHP Matt Gorbandt will sign to play baseball at NKU. I first saw this youngster as a freshman. Hard to believe it's been four years and he's soon to be off to NKU.

 

NKU , unbeknownst to them, also will have someone in the stands now keeping pitch counts.

 

Congrats to the Gorbandt family.

I heard this a couple weeks ago and was happy that Matt will be going to a good program. He's a good kid and good pitcher.

Matt is having a very strong senior season on top of what was a great junior season last year. He tossed an absolute gem against Holy Cross (won 1-0; threw a one-hitter) last week in his last start of the regular season. He'll no doubt get the nod against Conner tomorrow at Ryle in the district tourney.
