It was a busy day for the Lady 'Stangs. Lindsay Griffith signed with the College of Mt. St. Joseph, they then traveled to Pendery Park and won two conference games with Newport and Holmes and then celebrated their seniors at Barleycorns.

In the opening game with Newport Tricia Kramer went 4 for 4 and clubber her first career home run. Senior Lindsay Griffith tripled and drove home 3 runs, Molly Williams and Allie Anstead each had two hits with Williams driving home 3. Senior Nat Woeste had a two rbi game and Senior Alicia Miller tossed her 9th shutout with the help of her relief star ....(drum roll) Lindsay Griffith. Griffith came on in relief of Miller in the third inning for her first ever pitching appearance. Things were tense as Griffith hit the first batter but then retired the next on a pop to short. Did we mention that Alicia Miller was making her first ever appearance as a catcher? Griffith then walked the next two batters loading the bases. Up stepped Newport's top hitter Lynn Masters who bounced to Gretchen Trumbo at third. Trumbo fired to Miller at home who then fired to Maria Greis at first for the double play. That should insure Griffith will finish the year with a 0.00 ERA and team leader way ahead of Miller's 0.26. The Lady 'Stangs hung on for a 4 inning 16-0 win on Griffith's walk off triple.

The second game featured the Holmes Bulldogs and the Lady 'Stangs put on a four spot the first inning to take a 4-0 lead. They added runs in the 4th and 5th innings for a 6-0 lead. Maria Greis had rbi singles in the first and 5th for a two rbi game. Miller this time took care of things by herself scattering two hits over 7 innings for her 10th shutout of the year and her 21st win. Miller previously had won 24 and 25 games the last two years.
