cooperstown
I'll let Old Guy give the specific information on the game, but bottom-line is that Isler pitched very well for Ryle, got some nice defensive play behind him, and Ryle got some timely hits on offense. I believe Isler only gave up 3 (possibly only 2) hits the entire game. CCH really struggled to get some bunts down tonight and it hurt them (as well as looked like it was going to cause Krumps to blow a gasket). CCH pitchers Severson and Fagel pitched well also. Hempel goes yard for Ryle and Marshall Long also has a big RBI single.
Theoldguy
As coop stated, if you don't execute playing small ball, you can't score and if you can't score, you can't win. Severson pitched very well in his first start in about a week and a half and actually got stronger as he struck out two of his last three batters and Fagel also did well but well isn't good enough when you come up against an outstanding effort like Isler gave Ryle today. BTW not so sure that CovCath not executing, didn't have a lot to do with Matt Isler pitching today. A tip of Theoldguy hat to Matt as he pitched an outstanding game. Clyde
I am very concerned about the CCH offense against top pitching.
