Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Poll April 14, 2011

Look for NewCath and Campbell Co to break into the top 25 soon.

Based on what? Campbell doesn't have the name recognition to get votes out of Louisville/Lexington until they beat someone of significance. Granted they played both PRP and Harrison County well, but they lost both games. Their only "signature" win would be defeating Beechwood and I'm not so sure how valuable that win is rankings-wise. Plus it occurred two weeks ago and obviously wasn't enough to earn them inclusion in this coaches poll. With respect to NCC, they probably have less of a case. Sure, they have a 7-game winning streak, but have primarily beaten smaller/weaker schools, with the exception of their weekend win over BHS.

Of the two, Campbell has the best chance to break into the list by virtue of a much stronger schedule down the road - they play Harrison County (2x), CCH (2x), Boone Cty, Elizabethtown, and Henry Clay. NCC remaining "impact" games are Harrison Cty, Beechwood, and Boone.

Boone probably has the best chance in the 9th to really do something in the rankings, given some of the marquee games they have left - Lafayette, Elder, Tates Creek, Apollo, Male, Madison Central. Honestly, Boone put together one heckuva an impressive schedule this season.
