Prep Basketball: Lady Cards complete perfect run in district

 

 

 

The Lady Cardinals completed a perfect run against 40th District opponents with a 58-37 victory over Paris Saturday night at Norton Gymnasium. Clark (16-7) defeated the Lady Greyhounds in an earlier-season meeting between the two teams in Paris and will be the No. 1 seed in the district tourney.

 

 

True’s troops forced 14 turnovers and collected 12 steals, including five by senior Prisha Rogers. Clark scored 10 points off those miscues and had 29 defensive stops.

 

 

Clark opened the contest in a flurry and outscored the guests 22-9 in the opening quarter, which set the tone for the remainder of the game.

 

Taylor Kindred paced the Lady Cards with 21 points and connected on five of Clark’s seven shots from long range. Kindred missed just five shots on 10 attempts from the field and made all six free throw attempts.

 

 

Brittani Gay followed Kindred with 16 points and missed just three shots on 10 attempts from the field. Rogers had seven points and dished out a team-high eight assists.
