George Rogers Clark High School football player Darius Skinner is in the running for the U.S. Army Iron Man of the Year award in Kentucky.

The award honors Kentucky’s best two-way high school football players.

Each week during the regular season, the Army recognized one player in the state for his outstanding performance on the gridiron.

Skinner, who plays both offense and defense for the Cardinals was chosen for the week nine Iron Man honor after his performance in a district game against Madison Central.

Skinner had a touchdown reception, returned a punt for a touchdown and grabbed three interceptions in Clark’s 35-14 win over the Indians in Winchester.

You can cast a vote for Skinner as the Iron Man of the Year online at http://www.TheSportsFlash.com. Voting ends at midnight Sunday, Nov. 21.
