Commanders move to 6-0 with the Homecoming Night win. They've got a mighty fast ballclub. Quan Turner had 3 TDs in a big night.

 

Eagles had a few key players hurt and finished the night with Austin Downs at QB, their emergency backup.

Just a note, the key players got hurt during the game, not before. Washington County took it to Bethlehem tonight. It was 30-0 at the half and Bethlehem agreed to a running clock in the second half. Game wasn't close.

Owens and Cooper were hurt from last week and didn't practice much of the week, and the Eagles don't have a lot of depth as it is. I can't say it would have resulted in a Bethlehem win had they been 100 percent, as WC has a very nice squad and presented major matchup problems for the Eagles with their speed. I would say WC is 14-17 points better had Bethlehem been healthy. When Bethlehem couldn't get anything out of the first-half drive following the fumble recovery, it all went downhill.

 

I really like how quickly Abell gets rid of the ball.

 

I will say this: The Commanders have discovered something big from last year to this one, and I feel they are worthy of a top 10 ranking in 2A. They are every bit the equal of Glasgow, and may have more speed than the Scotties. I'll know for sure next week after seeing Danville against Bardstown, but I think WC probably is the favorite in 2AD4 and a serious threat to win the region.

As you can see, Bethelehem football is very overrated. They barely beat a weak Cambelsville team and lost to a young, down, inexperienced Bardstown team who has only won one game this season. Obvisiouly, they can only compete in a little class A district.
