Tight game, 2-1 Ryle, until Ryle broke it open in the bottom of the 6th with 9 runs.

It's a wonder what a tarp can do. Even with the heavy rains last night, Ryle's field was in great shape - although the outfield was very soggy.

Nice pitching performances by both starters - Donovan for Ryle and Meyer for NCC. Both go 4 innings and pitch very well and Hensley for Ryle was solid in relief (2 innings). Meyer is a very good pitcher and will keep NCC in every game he pitches. Definitely a top 7 or 8 pitcher in NKY and maybe better than that.

Ryle crushed the ball hard in the 6th to plate 9 runs and end the game in a run rule. Multi-hit games by Lonkard, Carney, Hempel, and Hoskins (maybe one more person, not positive) and I'm fairly certain that every Ryle hitter had one hit. Good start for what is going to be a very strong hitting Ryle team.

A lot of hard work went into getting the field ready for this game. Infield was in great shape. Foul territory was pretty mucky, as was outfield, but it was nice to play a game.

Good start boys...fun season ahead!
