Battle for the 25th just happens to be one of the state's longest running and intense rivalries.

Male features an athletic backcourt duo of Glenn and Hayes along with a sharpshooting sidekick of James Phila (sp). Tony Horne has picked up in recent weeks and is controlling the paint as well as scoring. Horne had a 27 point turnout a week ago but nothing is more important than his block in the waining minutes of the St. X game that sent it to overtime.

Manual has Sean Samsel at the point who offset Male's backcourt scoring with his own and negated their pressure with his ballhandling in the first round of this game during regular season. Since the proto-type point guards return, Manual has went on an 8 game run that has seen double-digit victory average and a road win against another rival in J'town.

When Samsel is finding the open man, its normally backcourt mate Miles Mitchell and Mitchell has delivered. Big performances in the X and J'town games and has been shooting it extremely consistent over the 8-game win streak.

Add in Nikolic 6-10 frame in the paint and rebounding, speed and athletism of Tre Jones, and a growing and confident bench, Manual has set its sight on a possible regional run to the state.

Male vs Manual, who ya got???

I think Manual's consistent play will continue. Manual wins!
