Final

Donovan settled down nicely after a couple of scratchy innings to shut down Bryan Station. Ryle collected 9 hits but leaves some guys on base. The Raiders had an opportunity to break the game wide open when they had a bases loaded, 1 out situation in the 5th and ended up having nothing to show for it. This game again highlighted by top notch defense, with the O'Hara and Carney combination turning two picture perfect double plays. O'Hara, Takeda, and Etscheid hit the ball well all day.

Ryle is now on a 6-game winning streak and playing some very good baseball. The pitching has been outstanding lately - something like 31 scoreless innngs in the last 35. Defense has been very good and some guys have come around nicely at the plate. Still leaving too many guys on base and the bottom of the order has to pick it up, but they are peaking at the right time. Playing the tough schedule they've had has paid off in the long run - perhaps not the prettiest overall record (though 15-12-1 isn't bad), but they are indeed battle-tested.
