Heard through the grapevine this morning that Middlesboro scrimmaged Lex Cath last week. Was anyone at the game and if so, how did both teams look? What was the score? Did Pittman pitch for Middlesboro and Maronde for Lex Cath?

Lex Cath started Maronde, Mboro started Pratt. Mboro put a freshman behind the plate. Powell is just experimenting now. The score was Lex Cath 3, Mboro 0. Both teams looked rusty. Seemed like neither team could get the offense going. That Pittman kid really looked impressive. Maronde threw a few miles harder than Pittman, but Pittman's off-speed was a lot better.
