Theoldguy Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 CovCath 15 Boone County 2 (5 innings) to win the Doc Morris Wooden Bat Tournament at Champion Window Field. I will not post any good bad or boxscore other than post that Matt Klein pitched a complete 5 innings of 2 hit baseball while striking out 4 walking 1 and giving up 2 runs both earned. If you have seen Boone County play this year, you understand what went wrong and there is no need to go into it, at least by me. FYI: CovCath will be playing Cov Holmes in a 35th District Seeding game tomorrow (Monday 4-21) at 5pm at CovCath.
cooperstown Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Great job, Mattie! Before this young man graduates, we will probably grow tired of constantly hearing his mentioned for his countless baseball accomplishments.
Theoldguy Posted April 21, 2008 Author Posted April 21, 2008 Howd Maile and Farris hit. 2 AB 1 hit double 1 run scored and 1 rbi Farris 2 AB 2 hits 2 walks 2 runs scored 2 rbi's Maile Understand this is my own feeling, but I feel for Farris. He is an outstanding ball player, good guy and he is giving it his all, but....what more can he do!

Theoldguy Posted April 21, 2008 Author Posted April 21, 2008 From the Cincinnati Enquirer A different-walk off win Bases on balls, hit batsmen help Colonels in romp BY MATT MULCAHEY | ENQUIRER CONTRIBUTOR FLORENCE - When Covington Catholic coach Bill Krumpelbeck and Boone County's Matt Wilhoite ended up parked next to each other at Champion Window Field on Sunday, the coaches agreed to keep the traveling trophy for the Doc Morris Scholarship Tournament in Krumpelbeck's truck until after the championship game. The decision saved Krumpelbeck the trouble of lugging the trophy to the stadium in the rain only to return it right back to where it started after the Colonels defeated Boone County 15-2 behind a 14-run fourth inning.
