I also want to add Mercer as another school to this post. Basically it is interesting to see how the success of Mercer, Boyle and Danville have really caused Lincoln to have to step up to keep up. We all know of Lincoln's successful past. With French revamping that program and jumping to Boyle it has forced Lincoln to make a serious committment to their football program to attract the best coach for their situation. I just want to thank all the great players and coaches that have played and coached at these schools over the years for making football so special in the area.

 

Now question is when is Garrard County going to take a major step forward? I would also include Casey in this question. This question has nothing to do with coaches or who the coaches are. We all probably know how successful garrard has been at times. But imo they are not at the level of the other programs any more. I asking for some thoughts about why or what needs to happen for Garrard to come up another level. I am thinking improving facilities etc.. Any thoughts?

Boyle and Danville made football a top priority and the administration put their money where their mouth was. Its encouraging to see all the improvements made at Lincoln and Mercer in the past years. Washington Co. and Marion Co. i believe are also making similar strides with the quality of coaching in those schools.

 

Honestly i think that Garrard has to get better quality of coaching, whether that means bringing in a new staff or just more assistants i dont know. Garrard was most successful when they had great coaches in Jerry Perry (now DC and probably head coach in waiting at Danville), Jeff Hester (DC at Boyle), and others along with Tim Rogers (ex-LB coach at Boyle, Union College, and now at Carson Newman i believe). They also need to revamp their offensive scheme, because the triple option is old and outdated.
