Former Harlan Co Coach Passes

Doyle C Troutman, age 79, passed away December 30th. Coach Troutman coached many years in Harlan Co as both a head coach and as an assistant. He coached in baseball, football and basketball at both Evarts and Harlan Ind. His coaching days go back into at least the 1960's. One of his basketball teams at Harlan, approx 1980, made it to the 13th Region Finals before falling to Clay Co in a close hard fought game. Coach Troutman was a fierce competitor and a positive influence on the youth who knew him.
