To put it frankly, we were shocked. 62-6 was not enough to motivate the Dragons to play better this time. It's getting ugly.

BGHS scored on the opening drive culminated by a 1 yd run by junior RB Tevin Barksdale. "Automatic Max" Oldham booted the PAT, and the Purples led 7-0 with 7:39 left in the first qtr. At the 5:10 mark, senior DL Robbie Johnson blocked a Dragon punt AND recovered it for the score! Automatic Max made it 14-0 and that was the score at the end of one.

With 8:09 left in the first half, soph RB Lavance Anderson stormed through the line for a 26 yd scoring run...Automatic Max made it 21-0. With 2:09 left in the half, senior RB Jared Carpenter scored the first of his three rushing TDs, this one from 7 yds out. Automatic Max made it 28-0. Then, on the last play of the first half, senior QB Trent Steelman threw a 6 yd scoring strike to senior WR D.L. Moore. Automatic Max booted the PAT, and BGHS led at the half 35-0.

Only 62 seconds into the third qtr, Carpenter struck again, this time from 30 yards out. Automatic Max made it 42-0. With 6:49 left in the third qtr, Carpenter ran 9 yds for the score. Yep, Automatic Max made it 49-0, and the running clock was on. With approximately 1:10 left in the third qtr, reserve junior QB J.P. Jackson scored on a 2 yd run. Automatic Max made it 56-0 at the end of three.

The final score of the night came with about 8 minutes left when Jackson hit soph WR Wes Cole with a 22 yd scoring strike. Don't know if it was Automatic Max or reserve K soph Zack Williams who hit the final PAT, but it was good, and the final was 63-0.

The Purples move on to Elizabethtown to take on unbeaten John Hardin next week. Sic 'em, Purple!!:D

Congrats BG on the monster win!

PH, I'll be wearing the BG hat you sent me when the Purples play next week against John Hardin.

If I don't make it to a game up here in NKY I'll be live updating someone's game but I'll still be wearing it in support of your Purples!!!

Scoring corrections:

Barksdale scored on the 9 yd run in the third qtr, not Carpenter as I originally thought. Automatic Max did boot all of the PATs in this game. He now has a school record 79 PATs to date on 80 attempts.:D
